Well, I don't think it's cause the cats weren't hot enough as this station I went too is further away and a longer drive then the one I used to go too which closed down. (They should all close down)...I will check the throttle plate and PCV which I haven't done. Thanks!
I guess the best thing to do is take it for some diags. I would think the injectors are okay since I've sent them out a few years ago and have only put 3 or 4 thousand miles on the car since then. The cat is as old as the car. It runs so well I hate to have it touched but I guess it's time. 82K...
Hello,
Flunked inspection here in NJ for Idle emissions, I think this may be something new as last years paper didn't have idle emissions. Anyway here's the readings,
Idle - Fail
HC ppm 304 (the standard is 220)
CO% 2.25 (the standard is 1.20)
High Idle passed at 39 for HC's...
Hello All,
Replaced knock sensor 6 or so years ago and problem was resolved. Again out of nowhere code 43 shows up again with the same senerio. Only when I start the car, the aux fan engine compartment comes on and the Service Engine Soon light appears. As soon as I drive away the code clears...
In March or April you mentioned replacing the ICM. It cleared things up for a while? That would be my first pick on a temperature issue and the car dying. Unfortunately the computer only knows that the car was shut off, can't determine if it's by the key or not. Heat conductive grease used on the...
Good for you....I've always found after working on a vehicle that it feels different. It is the hardest part.....getting started. Sometimes I'm on a roll with cars, other times I'm into other things.......way too many hobbies! Enjoy your good work!
Not being wise here but check the fuse. Mine was out but I didn't get the right one at first and thought it looked good.:confused. I did go through the entire system and found out how everything works and I'm sure I can find my notes on if you need them. Just let me know. PS....don't forget that...
Hey that "sys" light has something to do with or could do with the battery voltage...I would definitely check that. Maybe a bad cell or somthin'. That car does not like inadaquate voltage.
Did the same thing. It wasn't very smart....but now I know. Bought a new top but the acrylic glue worked just fine and it's been years. Have two tops, the transparent top is lighter for me in my older age. :bash
Along the frame rails both sides under the hood, if you look along the rail you will see them, 3 or 4 from what I can remember. Also under the car, bell housing there is at least one and also frame rail drivers side under vehicle....again from memory when I redid all of mine. 1993
Hold on there, I think you were correct the first time. 93 not electronic but cable controlled tranny. The issue he is having could very well be a slipped or loose cable that all connect to the ASR motor. From what I can remember the cable that controlls the TPS was loose on mine and caused...
The cable controlled trans in a 93 is very dependent on the cable tension. From what I can recall there are 3 cables that go the ASR motor. I have found the cable locks can and will move causing all kinds of tranny issues. I secured mine., forget how exactly but they don't go out of adjustment...
I don't know how a 96 is arranged but I pulled a vacuum line and checked for a raw fuel order caused by a very small crack in the diaphragm of the FPR.
