This is my favorite pic of Emmanual
Yeah I found that at first confusing too. Nelson does a good job explaining.
I too am concerned over the omission of a torque curve. I'd REALLY like to see THAT!
Yeah, know what you mean. However in many states cars are eventually exempt from...
Dark shark....SWEET!!!! THAT was a bargain for such a gorgeous piece!
The shape and proportions of the TPI are just right for the hood opening. That BELONGS on your car...it just looks perfect!
Hib...Like Clark Kent and Superman....I dont recall ever seeing pics of you and Dave Emmanual...
That CANT BE GOOD! This is with the hatch vent also? If so I'd get rid of it FAST!
If no hatch vent and thats happening.... That seems a serious problem. A good friend of mine once drove their old pontiac catalina to school and he passed out in the parking lot! It turned out the exhaust was...
Thanks for the Haggerty recommendation.:thumb I also really like their website. You can easily change limits and recalculate. In PA we have a limited tort option for cheaper rates. Haggerty is still a fraction of the best rate I could get from Liberty Mutual with whom I have my house and 3 cars...
The good news is that heat shield is now easy to replace. Originally you had to take the pipe off and slide a new one on the end. This apparently was part of GM's plan to rape you at the service center. Eventually one was developed with velcro that goes on easily!:upthumbs
That sounds like you guys were using the GM Service "rape book". Hope he didnt charge you by the hour like GM :chuckle
Reminds me of the headlight switch replacement on our Pontiac Sunfire. GM service manual says to remove wheel which means disconnecting air bag, etc. a 2 hour job the first...
THATS just plain odd!
Grundy quoted me a decent price from internet on our 1984 and we're 38- 40years old. However I was scared off by one additional rider they included. Quick summary: It said that the car was for recreational use only (and it would be) but it also was worded that it was not to...
Yup, it does depend. The deeper the snow the less surface area you want. On hard pack, wider seems to be better.
Also, I found that a 20 lb bag (I use sand) in cargo area works best. Too much load and if you use traction cables they can hit the wheels well liner.
Ugg! I just looked at the pic of the cable at Eckler's...I see what you mean...that looks VERY annoying! Hope that beer was Yuengling! I just bought a case....I'll order it today and let you know when it gets here....and its yours for the install :chuckle
BTW, on a side note for future...
Congrats to the Miller family!
:D That certainly brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye! Had she not past away my grandmother would have been 100 on Feb 17th.
She always loved riding in the Vette into her 90's...glaucoma wrap around shades and all! She thought it was a VERY EASY car to...
I HATE 5 spoke wheels! Sure they were fresh on ZR1 20 years ago but now they are SO overdone on every car made today!
You need to start with basics first....Wheels first, color second.
Sawblades are SO MUCH better looking! You cant go wrong with painting them body color for a refined...
Hib, you are right about the steering ratio being what I also would descibe as touchy. Its TOO quick and overboosted. However, that concerns the FRONT END NOT also the REAR as he described.
Rv Guys's desciption of the Bilstein Z51 combination is COMPLETELY ACCURATE. I experienced this first...
Yeah but thats STILL more $ for the same performance....IF the new dynamic solutions manifold is reasonably priced...say $500-700. Thats reasonable for picking up 50 HP.
Granted, like you said TPI can be enhanced further than CFI at a good value but it all depends how much power you do want and...
BTW, its not the gov't that takes away people's rights...its the idiot people who give them away for perceived "temporary security"...and deserve neither neither liberty or security (paraphrasing Ben Franklin)!
The environmental wackos already tried taking away classic cars in mid-late 90's...
Let me know when you finish :-P But it seems pretty str8 forward.
I've been meaning to do this myself but am too cheap to fork over the $50 for new ones. Its ironic since when I bought the car (1992) I wasted $ by buying the emergency hood opening tool...and never had to use it.
What I found...
Ha! If you're satisfied with TPI like performance (actually a little more) for LESS money that switching to TPI then it seems to be a bargain.
I'm wondering if Dave Emmanuel was ghost writing that bit for Hib? :-P
People claim the CFI cant possibly be improved to be a performer BUT Vette...
Yeah, I see those 88 wheels about only once every couple years. I've looked for a used set for years and nobody seems to part with them! Oddly, when I do see them its NOT at car shows! I think most people dont know what they have.
I used to walk up to 12 miles a day and stumbled across 2 88's...
