    What Would You Do?

Never owned a C4, but I've ridden in several. I totally understand the feelings you have for your pride and joy...I have those same feelings for mine. I have also said many times that I will never sell mine, either. But never is a long time....and if there isa good compelling reason to trade...

    2002 Corvette

Now that I understand the question, from reading the thread that you started over in C3 Gen, I might add something to my original answer above. As they stated over there - there is a world of difference from the perspective of technology and engineering. The C5 Corvette was the first totally...

    2002 Corvette

Greetings Corvette Girl! The '02 Corvette shares one great thing with all of the other Vettes before it and after it.....heritage and the fact that it's a Corvette! The 02's are great cars, here's a link to a page that talks about many of the features and improvements on the '02...

The Waiting, The Sweating: Air Conditioning Poll

I agree, Barbie - summers are absolutely miserable here. I'm in the middle of my 15th summer, and regardless of what "they" say - you never get used to it. :( But this three months of misery is the price we have to pay for the other nine months of paradise....top down weather all year!:lou

    Several questions

    1) why do l see the "window valet" show up in the for sale area's and then sucked up in a nano second for $110+ shipping. The Window Valet retails for $165, so at $110...that's a great price! As far as what it is....here's their web site that will explain it's function in detail. I've had...

The Waiting, The Sweating: Air Conditioning Poll

Not to diminish your discomfort, Patrick - but here in the Valley of the Sun....today it's going to be 115F. Inside the car, it's about 50 degrees hotter than that! so in answer to your question, at least in Phoenix - the A/C goes on before you start the engine! Also - contrary to common...

Thanks for the props! I'm a little humble and I never want to come off looking like I'm bragging.

    Aftermarket exhaust systems....

I have the Corsa Pace Car with a Corsa x-pipe. I noticed that no one mentioned the most important thing (at least what I think is important!;) )....drone. Corsas do not drone - period. They are designed to not drone. Some of the other aftermarket systems produce this annoying droning noise...

C5 Oil Filters - No Really

Hey Remo - I buy them by the case, and I share them with my local buddies. I believe Fichtner will sell them individually also. Actually, last time around I bought two cases - one buddy of mine bought one case from me....he has 3 C5's. He changes oil more often than I do - I wind up doing it...

    Introduce myself.....

Thank you both for the welcome! I'm hoping that I can give something back to this forum, as I've used the CAC database for years. I have been made to feel very welcomed here - and you both should be proud of the membership here. The VE interior on my car feels as good as it looks. I hope you...

C5 Oil Filters - No Really

I know I'm a little late to this party - but I buy the UPF44 filter that was mentioned previously. It is the Delco Ultra-Guard Gold. I believe most GM dealers sell them - I bought mine form Fichtner Chevrolet in Laurel, Montana. They have an excellent parts department and they are very...

    Introduce myself.....

Thank you for the welcome, Patrick! My interior is Vette Essentials. Here are a couple of more pics of that - as you can see, it's more than just the seats. I hope no one feels like I'm showing off, but this car had the base seats when I bought it and the skins were in need of something. I...

    Brake dust question

I just checked the box that the HAWK HPS pads came in, they don't show operating temps or anything like that. I can tell you that HAWK is the official pad of the SCCA - whatever that really means. I know that they have a full line of different compounds - some of the others are more suitable...

What is up with Corvette Clubs ?

One of the methods that I've found is helpful in meeting fellow enthusiasts - go to a local show and shine, and introduce yourself. This is not easy for the painfully shy and socially retarded (I'm talking about me, not you!), but it is the most effective approach. What the others have said...

Post a photo of your C5

Tom - I bought them directly from iForged - http://www.iforged.com/v3/main.php But I understand a few of the places like the Corvette Garage and West Coast Corvettes are also dealers for the wheels. They are beautiful, and they are very, very similar to HRE's. Mine look like HRE 847's. They...

    Oil

I think it's important to stay with a FULL synthetic, as some oils are a mix of dino oil and synthetic. The other very important point to consider is that the oil meets or exceeds GM4718 - which is the standard for the LS1/LS6 engine. Mobil introduced a new line of Mobil 1 oils called...

Post a photo of your C5

Thanks, Tom! The wheels are iForged Equips, polished and clear coated.

    C5 opinions

I've always believed go with the newest lowest mileage car you can afford. One of the deciding factors is if you find a specific color you like - those colors were not available in every years...with the exception of Torch Red and Black. Also - equipment....as you get into the newer model...
