found a cheaper place for sidepipes (I think)

This appears to be "expired". What are the part numbers of the Side Pipes you purchased (or the catalog page would help). Thanks, Paul

    Ignition Ballast Resistor Location

Yep, you got it. But, you don't NEED to remove the wire to te starter, though. It won't effect anything, and it will be there if you ever want it to be!

    Ignition Ballast Resistor Location

It's a resistor wire. One of the wires is the resistor wire and the other goes to the starter, delivering a full 12V when the starter is engaged fof faster more reliable starts.

    Center console removal - Advice?

I found that you can save yourself a LOT of grief by starting at the back (i.e. take the screw out from inside the rear compartment) and take things off one at a time back to front. It will come out a whole lot easier and FAR fewer scratches!

New Pertronix ignition, still doesn't run right

I believe you are referring to the "noise filter" capacitor that is mounted to the side of the original coil. Pretty obvious if it's there and if it is, just unhook it. I have another thought though..... Are you sure your valves are adjusted correctly? If you have one a little too tight...

    Thermostat

Any of you folks know where I can purchase a Robert Shaw GT755-180 thermostat for a 350? Apparently Autozone either stopped carrying them or they don't have them in my area (MA). I also tried CAP but they don't carry either. I would refer online at this point. TIA, Paul

    Gas guage problem

I would suggest you check your ground. I has similar flakey readings until I ran a new ground wire to the gauge cluster! Vettes and grounds = enenies!!

    HELP: C3 "LARS" distributor

You're going to have to adjust the new one to your car anyway, so you would be better off to buy the parts, do your own, and LEARN! It's not that hard and Lars' kit will help you do it right. Take a deeeeep breath, and jump in! As for Lars, try again - he doesn't ignore people!

    carb idle solenoid

Nope - has nothing to do with the CHOKE FAST IDLE. That is ANOTHER Cam that holds the throttle plates open even wider until the "heat pot" warms up and opens the choke. Some of them would drop down in steps by themselves (very seldom worked!), most held the "fast idle" - even when the choke...

    carb idle solenoid

Carb Solenoid On non-A/C cars, this solenoid was used as an "anti dieseling" device. You set the idle using the plunger, and the idle SCREW is backed off from there so that when you shut the key off, the throttle plates essentially closed. The solenoids always gave problems as the cars...

    Tires AGAIN!!

I know this topic gets thrashed regularly, but now it has hit home! I have picked up a set of 15X8 Rallye's for my '69 vert and I need to purchase a new set of tires for them. I have seen conflicting stories as to what wil fit and what will rub and it can be quite dizzying trying to figure it...
