    Help! E4ME Dwell problem

I agree to the above: if covering-up the carb throat does anything other than cause the engine to die....air has found another path...there is a leak. First suggestion - remove the vacuum line at the back of the intake manifold and cap-off the intake manifold. This will eliminate all the...

    May Need Rebuild

Probably to late to add to this thread, but: As stated above when using a higher lift cam / less vacuum the ECM will change the mixture using the MAP sensor input. It is a simple circuit to add that modifies the MAP sensor output so that the ECM will keep the idle mixture leaner. The circuit...

    ecm and prom

Also check ebay for used ECMs.... The original PROMs are long gone...only choice is the one from HyperTech....and like stated above....will cost more than the ECM. If you want to try a different ECM before buying one....I do have a spare with original PROM...that I could let you borrow. You...

    Thief Alarm Works...How About That!!`

Had my '81 at a car show last weekend...had the windows down and the doors locked as always. An hour or so later I came back to my car and this guy comes-up to me and we start talking about my '81.... So I reached-in and unlocked the door, opened the door and the horn starts blowing off and...

    Another...what is this?

On the rear, below the bumper cover, approximately next to the muffler hangers; there is a rectangular piece on both sides that bolts to the rear cross-member.....what are they for?

    Mahogany wth Cnnnabarr owners....

Yep...typo in the title....make that Cinnabar. This is what happens when the "i" key on the keyboard breaks and not wearing glassess. Need some help.....I would like to see pictures of cars with this color combination.....I am really thinking of painting my white/Cinnabar this color. Well...

    Question: Turn Signal Adjustment

Yep...gonna have to pull the steering wheel and all the other parts to get down to the turn signal cam. As you probably already know, the turn signal lever attaches to the cam with a single screw. If this screw becomes loose, then right turn signals become very difficult. Just need to...

    Rear Glass Trim Removal

I got the trim off; ended-up using a curved hook tool from harbor Freight. Took me all of 5 minutes to remove the trim. Found several more clips broken, so next project is to attempt to replace the clips with the rear glass in. I have seven new clips...should probably replace all of them...

    Original Hood??...How to tell

I did not even think about the 80-82 hoods being different....of course they are....the body was changed slightly for these last years of the C3. I will pass this along to the business that sells the hood insulation. He is sending me a rectangle so I can cut my own...perhaps I will make a...

    Original Hood??...How to tell

Previous owner not available to ask. Is there a GM part number or something that IDs the hood as OEM? I know the car had some front end repair from the overspray in the under front bumper components. What has brought-up the question is that I ordered / received a hood insulation pad and it...

    Original Hood??...How to tell

How can I tell if I have an aftermarket hood or an original hood? I know the underside has been painted, but trying to determine if the hood has been replaced by previous owner? There was no emissions label on the hood when I got the car. Thanks, LannyL81

    Rear Glass Trim Removal

I already had one broken clip and I broke another trying to get the clip to release. I have also been told on the Corvette Forum that the glass must come out to replace these clips......is this really true?

Keep the Hypertech safe and sound as the stock chip is no longer to be found....at least I could never find one.

    Frozen Distributor Hold Down Bolt!

Even if you mess-up the intake manifold there are ones on ebay for cheap or you can get an Edlebrock Performer...unless of course you are trying to stay completely stock. I have a stock one, but it has been powder-coated gray...but it is available if you need it. Good luck.

    Air Relay.....again

Well...wired-in the adjustable MAP sensor voltage reference; put it in the space that the AIR relay was in. Removed the "C" terminal of the MAP sensor connector and replaced it with one connected to the new adjustable voltage reference. Started engine and let it get nice and warm.....set the...

    Air Relay.....again

Yes I found figure 6E1-56...after I had posted my question. And then I find out the "real" names for what I have always read and refered to as the "gulp" valve. This is actuall the AIR Switch Solenoid and AIR Control Solenoid. Have never heard of these terms before now. Anyways, yes Peter...

    Air Relay.....again

The Air Relay or perhaps it is AIR Relay is the one located next to the MAP sensor in the bracket bolted to the firewall. The service manual states this is the AIR RELAY. If it is part of the AIR managment system, then I have removed all of the AIR components and will have no problems removing...
