Seem to recall removing two allen head bolts (4mm?) from the back of the wheel, pull the airbag toward you then unplug the electrical connector, installation is the reverse.
Glad you are happy with the replacement. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 15 minutes, you should be safe concerning the air bag.
The FSM recommends a special steering wheel puller, but I was able to pull my 93 wheel using the same puller I've used for years, the only caution...
Definitely agree with Hib, follow the step by step troubleshooting procedures in the FSM for best results. Best practice when there are multiple codes in memory is to troubleshoot the lowest numbered code first, once it is repaired clear the remaining codes from the ECM using a scan tool or by...
Another option often overlooked is an online subscription to Alldata. For less than $30 annual fee you get access to the complete FSM online, plus TSB's, labor guides and other nice features. I still prefer having a paper copy of the FSM because many jobs require frequent flipping between...
Measure the resistance of the existing key using an ohmmeter then see the chart to get the correct key.

Not sure if this is the correct item but will toss it out there. Rock Auto RockAuto Auto Parts
lists an EGR time delay switch, search under 85 Corvette, then use the Electrical-Switch & Relay tab. Hope that helps.
Thought I recalled you getting ready to try this awhile back, the holed piston explains the delay. I'm guessing your work schedule and travel has not helped either.
Best of luck sorting out the tune, hope the combination exceeds all expectations after all the time and money invested, keep us...
Look forward to hearing your results Pete, know you have been dying to try this gear set. I'm guessing the cost is substantial, but should be a nice improvement.
Don't replace anything, run the step by step diagnostic procedure for the code found in book #2 of the FSM, it will lead you to problem. Codes indicate a problem in the circuit, not that a part is bad, it could simply be a bad connection.
Congratulations on fixing your car and posting the results here. That step is one many forget once the car is running properly, your post should help others in the future.
Pull the codes using the the paper clip method as described here.

:L Hey good luck! You may want to try a Porche forum, you don't seem to listen to anyone here. At least 3 members have provided links to sources of wiring diagrams and diagnostic information, maybe the Germans can help.:w
