Important! Big problem with my 92 Corvette, does not start! Security lights blinking! HELP!! SOS

Stop wasting your energy blaming General Motors or the jackass who installed the stereo, instead buy a Factory Service Manual here Service Manuals, Owner Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Service Bulletins - Helm Incorporated or on Ebay. Book #2 of the FSM set has all the diagnostic charts and wiring...

Important! Big problem with my 92 Corvette, does not start! Security lights blinking! HELP!! SOS

I agree. First of all you should specify what you mean by won't start. If the starter does not crank the engine I would start by fully charging the battery and making sure the cables are clean and tight. Since the problem started when you removed the old stereo another possibility is that you...

93LT1 Corvette oil filter adapter bolt size/part number

Just a guess would be that the early style is thicker using the longer bolts. It is possible the early adapter was superceded to another number, I would have no way to check that. It may also be discontinued, I have found many parts for my 93 are no longer available and they do not show up on...

93LT1 Corvette oil filter adapter bolt size/part number

I just looked at my CD again, it shows different adapters, 92/93 is PN 10168497, 94 through 96 is PN 12556204. There is no cross reference for the casting numbers, but next time I lift my 93 I will see if I can see one.

    My CD shows that part number and size fits 92 and 93, 94 through 96 uses PN 14092398 = 5/16" X 18 X 1.875"

    LT4 LT4 Cam

The original part number 12551142 looks to be discontinued by GM but any custom camshaft grinder should be able to duplicate the original, here is a link to one as an example. Camshafts

    EPROM 1993 Converible with automatic

I would contact Hypertech's customer support during regular business hours which can be found on their website. I have had no luck whatsoever with tech support from Eckler's, good luck. techsupport@hypertech.com Performance is our Passion - Hypertech

    EPROM 1993 Converible with automatic

Some tuners utilize what is called a piggyback chip such as shown here, this is the setup I'm running on my 93 and it sounds like what you have. madtuner.com - 92-93 LT1

    What to replace first

The diagnostic process remains the same no matter how many times the light comes on, whether it goes off at times or how many miles are driven between occurrences. The random nature of the symptoms might indicate an intermittent problem such as a loose connection, bad wiring or failing relay...

    What to replace first

Don't replace anything until you diagnose the problem. Trouble codes or DTC's do NOT necessarily indicate a failed part, only that there is a problem in that circuit. You will need a Factory Service Manual to troubleshoot correctly. Best practice is to start with the lowest numbered DTC...

1993 Coupe Fuel Pump Relay Location?

The location of the fuel pump relay for a 93 is the same as the illustration Rabbit posted. I don't believe it is your problem since power to the pump is also provided on the back up circuit through the oil pressure sending unit, both would need to fail for the relay to cause your problem. I...

    Question: Air Pump

Someone on another forum had a question about the air pump a couple of days ago and I noticed it is available from Rock Auto, about $180. I agree with vettoz that disconnecting it should cause no codes or problems. Its function is to help heat up the cats quicker, it only operates for a couple...

    Another'93 horn problem

The factory procedure is somewhat tedious and while it is probably the safest method I will admit to short cutting it myself. At the minimum disconnect the negative battery cable, pull the airbag fuse and wait the 15 minutes. If you hear a loud bang please communicate directly with my attorney.:L

    Another'93 horn problem

Your description sounds like an issue with the spring loaded contact mentioned. I would remove the airbag, carefully following the guidelines in the FSM to prevent accidental discharge, then inspect as necessary, steering wheel removal may be also required if you cannot spot the problem after...

Advise before I go screw things up again 700R4

I agree with John, and will add one thing he did not mention. Changing the tailshfaft or extension housing is simple enough, four or five external bolts, the longer output shaft on the other hand requires complete disassembly of the transmission to do properly. If you are going to take the...

    Another'93 horn problem

If the horn functions from the PKE the problem is NOT the relay. I would check the switches in the steering wheel or the spring loaded contact that completes the circuit to allow rotation.

    Rpm

Actually the current practice of running the A/C compressor even with heat on was implemented for two reasons, as John mentioned it removes moisture from the air which helps keep windows clear. The second reason is that when A/C first came into common use the compressor would often sit idle for...
