    Hurry Hurry Look Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that we have a good idea of what it will look like, as well. Ice- are the fenders closer to jujubee's pic or the drawing from autoweek. Jujubee's pic seems to have taller C3oid fenders on it. Greg

What happened to the thread with the white beta pics?

Uncle. The new Boxter S has a great look and feel, not to mention the 911. I guess I have been and always will be a Corvette guy at heart, but Chevy is letting me down. Bigtime. I've been a proud member of this forum, and loved every minute of it. More so, I love driving my Corvette. 6...

Come on in here see the 2004s...

Up until the 50th anniversary edition, it seemed like the vette was on quite a roll. What in the world is happening? It's like they're trying to get left in the dust. GM: Wake up! FAST! Cadillacs (whether they are "V series" or not) are getting horsepower upgrades and the Corvette is...

    [Kudos] Way To Go GM!!!!

I agree that GM should be lauded for their utilization of a carbon fiber hood, however, I think heads should roll on the issue of other upgrades. The farewell C5 should be more than a paint job, hood, and suspension tweaks. We were all demanding more power, or even a LS-6 in a vert, and the...

    First Look 2004 Z16 Z06

Unbelievable. Do they expect to sell a single 2004 with the C6 just around the corner? They'd have a much easier time if they made at least some sort of engine enhancement to distinguish the car from a 2002. I don't think that stickers and badges are going to get them out of this one, cool...

    A C5 Reskin anybody?

I think that there are good arguments for doing it both ways, but IMHO, they're doing it right. As Black Ice said, the C6 will essentially be a reskin of the C5. New body, new interior, essentially the same drivetrain (LS generation block, albeit with more displacement and HP) and chassis. I...

    2004 'z16'

This article is kinda interesting. Sorry if this is a repost. http://www.gm-cars.com/ART_z16preview.shtml Greg

    How about this engine?

The engine, at least according to chevrolet, is an LS block. Still overhead valve, etc. Greg

    How about this engine?

The 6.0 liter in the SS is a bored out Generation III small block. The Gen III is the engine found in the vettes and former F-bodies.

    A couple more tidbits

Paddle shifters would be nice, but they still have the automatic feel, which is against my personal preference. It does seem like they will put the 6-speed auto in the C6, and paddle shifting on that thing would probably be pretty cool. What would be more cool, at least IMHO, would be to...

    A couple more tidbits

1: GM is putting $300,000,000 (that's alot of zeros) into the Willow Run plant to build 6 speed automatic transmissions for "future RWD performance vehicles." Now, I am a manual tranny kinda guy, but the fact is that the majority of Corvettes are sold with autos, and this would probably be a...

    Cues from the SS?

I think it's got some good and bad points. Some of the bad stuff could be removed by making it a 2-door, 2-seater, instead of the oddly-configured four-door that this thing has. I like the rear end, but would not like to see the tail pipes in the bumper like a 60's Mustang. If they fixed...

    Cues from the SS?

Which one? A future one, or one of the past ones? I love the F-body cars, but I don't remember them being so vuluptuous. It seems like their fenders, and lines in general, have traditionally been more wedge-like.

    C5-R 427

Okay, cool. Thanks alot. The only thing I'm confused about is on the official Corvette page. This states that the C5 and the C5R engines are both LS blocks. Does Chevy/GM supply the block to these folks to beef it up, or is it a completely different cast that the company makes itself?

    C5-R 427

C5r 427 Who makes the C5R 427 CID engine for the C5R? Is it chevrolet? Lingenfelter or some other tuner? Someone else that I haven't heard of? Just wondering. -Greg

    Cues from the SS?

Just a hunch, but the Chevy SS that was unveiled in Detroit this year seems to have taken several styling cues from different generations of vettes. It's got big, curvy fenders (like the C3), very sleak lines (like a C4), a stretched wheelbase with very little overhang (like the C5). GM openly...

    LSx Engine question

What else is the block/design for the LSx engine used in? I realize that it's available in the [former] F-body cars, that it's coming in the GTO, and CTS V-series, but is it also the 6-liter "Vortec" engine found in Chevy trucks? Did they stroke the LS-1 and make it iron, or are those things...

    C6 Requirements...

The Corvette "Supercar" The thing that gives me some hope that they'll do something like that is something that I read in the automotive press a while back talking about making a no-holds-barred "supercar" to go out there and get'em. I wish I could remember where I saw this. In the same...

    C6 Requirements...

My Five 1. I'd like another ZR-1-like exclusive model or trim level. A true snake-skinner. I think it' great for the Corvette to be available to the masses, but I'm not looking for a daily driver. I dunno, make something with a limited edition engine, suspension, etc, and make about 1000 of...

    What are the refinements?

I'm pondering letting the '98 go in order to get a newer Vette. Other than the options (magnetic ride control, HUD, active handling, etc), what refinements have been made to build quality, little rattles, squeaks, etc. I love my car, but she's starting to show her age just a little bit. Would...
