I think your 80' is the same as my 78'. There are a couple screws that hold the gage/radio cluster to the tunnel console. Note also that there is a small bracket that supports the back of the radio on the right side, attaches to the trannis tunnel.

I've done it both ways and prefer one at a time. I get nervous with all that weight hanging on the end of my Harbor Freight made in China cherry picker. Plus as I recall you have to remove the rad support to pull it with the trannie still on.
When I was looking for harnesses for my 71', The Last Detail Corvette had the best prices and they were the Lectric Limited brand. The most difficult harness to install is the dash harness, the rest are easy by comparison. They also sell on eBay.

This is a 78' speedo gear housing. You will need both the outside o'ring (you can just barely see it in the photo) and the orange seal on the inside. Try the Chevy dealer first. As I recall, I bought mine from one of the Corvette parts suppliers.
