I am assuming that's what you get after it was "blasted" and "repainted". Besides, he may not care if the leading edge isn't chromed. You can't easily tell when it is on the car without close inspection anyway.

I went and checked all four cars and all of them read ~28-30 V but all I have is a cheap $10 voltmeter with only a 500 and 200 Volt scale. I don't think all four alternators are bad but I also don't think I have 30 VAC out of the alternator on all four cars either.
