I replaced mine in the 85 the pump made allot of noise at any rpm over 2k, so I spent the morning replaceing it, well it would take only about 20 mins to replace but I wire brushed and clear coated everything I took off and the new pump. The new pump made noise for a few trips than quieted down.

I drove to the bay area last sunday to look and sit in a C6, I liked the feel of it, lots more foot room than the C4, BUT I think it would be a pain to keep finger prints off when you close the doors.

I just put megaflows with lt1 tips on my 85, all polished stainless steel, quiet although not as quiet as stock 85 or the 94 but sounds good with a bit of a rumble, cost me $550 installed last month. The tips are made by silverline.

I upgraded the mufflers on the 85 to megaflows with the lt1 style tips, it sounds really mellow and all polished stainless steel, it was a performance and looks mod, since when you are on the road all any one sees is the rear.

I went through this with my hot rod, start running allot of oil pressure you will have oil leaks.
