My limited knowledge of the "Stingray" name tag is that it was last used on the 1976 MY. So the last offical "Stingray" was the 76 but it is a name that is associated with the corvette and lots of folks call all corevettes "Stingrays" even thought not all were offically tag as "Stingrays"...

    Interior Dye

Mine steering wheel is not leather so that was not a problem, but I put a wheelskins cover on it and that is a great leather cover looks and feels like factory.

Can the speedo cable be removed from the tranny end only? Do you have to undo the attachement at the speedometer also?

Folks I am going to do a transmission fluid change on my 76 and was wondering if there are any tricks I should be aware of? Mine is leaking and I know one of the bolts will not tighten so I am hoping I can retap the bolt hole and get the bolt to hold. What else should I do when I have the...

    Question: Astro Tops

Hey folks I am thinking about getting the Thomposon Astro Top for my 76. Does anyone have any comments about these tops? Is this something that can come on and off simply. My orginal tops work fine I was just thinking this would give me more options. What about a weather seal for the top of...

    Help! 76 Stingray

From another 76 owner, my two cents, why change the one main thing that seperates the 76 from all the other mid 70's vets, we have the last Stringray and the steering wheel makes it unique, just clean it up repaint it and keep it. Mine looks great after a clean and paint and a wheelskins cover...

    Brake Lights

My problem is that both brake lights are not working, blubs are good, grounds appear to be good, so what is the common factor that would cause both lights to stop working? This problem was interminent but now the brake lights are out and I can't get them to come on at all, all other lights work...

I have been thinking about replacing the bezal and radio with one from the major suppliers. Now I have another idea I am thinking about a MP3 player with the FM transmitter...

Welcome from another proud 76 owner, you will have a task if you want to replace that steering wheel for sure. I just took mine off cleaned it you real good repainted it and covered it with a black leather wheelskins cover and I think it looks good, cheap and fast way to clean it up.

    Steering changes

Recommendations on do it your self rebuild or purchase a rebuilt unit? What level of skill do you need to rebuld this, my gargare is not like a shop not to many special tools. It cost about twice as much to get a quote "new" unit vs. a rebuilt one what are you thoughts on this?

    Steering changes

Did that Mike but adjustment screw is pretty far down, I assume that means that a rebuild is in order?
