Hi jldecke -
here is what I did to my 99 coupe.

**note** Billy Bob is just a JOKE people - it is not associated with Billy BOAT - but it is a billy "bobbed" setup - get it? Ah nevermind.....
I cut the mufflers off of a stock c5 catback and...
Hi 6 Shooter -
They can be modded to run great. This type of vid has been out for quite a while - i.e. a big ole' diesel truck suprising the competition by running low et's on a strip.
Another case of you can make ANYTHING run quick if you do the right things to make it happen.
One of the...
Hi DocOhm
The stock shocks are black and in the usual location. They don't have any markings on them that I can remember.
The stock exhaust should have black painted mufflers with chrome spot-welded tips (four tips). The tips are eggagerated ovals.
If you have flowmasters, then it is not...
Hi SANOLS1 -
I would bet the tires were over-inflated.
I run less than what the factory specifies in an attempt to get the whole tire on the ground evenly.
A good friend of me told me to do this after I noticed my 305 pirelli's were wearing in the middle of the tread.
Soften them up some...
Hi Jack -
Nope - you were clear - I was talking to Danny Looney.....
One of my friends has a 6sp coupe and his trans sounds like it has rocks bounding around in it - that is yet another issue lol.
Sounds like you have a nice long term relationship going on with Corvette. Very pleased to...
Hi EHS -
Nice.
Why did you remove the key from the fob? just wondering...

Hi Bill -
I have a 2002 Z06 with 40k miles on the stock brake linings.
As the brake material wears, the fluid level in the master cylinder reservior will get progressively lower - that is one way to roughly guage the pad wear.
I recently replaced the pads on our 99 coupe - which apparently...
Hi Patrick -
Good stuff and well said.
Can I add....
And for the love of pete - PLEASE CHECK YOUR SALE POSTS!!!
There are a couple of recent folks who posted items for sale then went off an never replied to anyone who was interested in buying....

Hi Danny Looney -
The video that came with my 2002 Z06 specifically points out the noise you describe as an operational characteristic of the C5 drivetrain - and even shows a short scene of the C5 manual being driven away from a stop to demonstrate that the noise is not abnormal.
The car has...
Hi atmmac!
Actually, a good friend of mine has a 2004 coupe -
He wanted a Ti setup - I sent him the link and he said he would take them - so I was going to work it out for him since he is not a member here (yet - c'mon Ken!)
best regards -

Hi Red Hot -
If the exhaust is not cut, and is an OEM Ti Z06 catback, I'll take it.
Please let me know the details of how to pay and get it shipped -
I am in central Illinois (61547) and I have a DHL Shippers account.
best regards -

Hi Dr.
It is not a flexing sound - it is a pop or bang - sounds like someone hit the side of the car right behind the drivers seat with a tennis ball -
I have Pirelli's on my Z06, and it still will follow the road irregularities.
Both of my cars have 40+k miles on them, and niether of them...
Hi Dr. -
There is sometimes a "popping" noise that is casued by the sheet metal behind the drivers seat flxing (like the bottom of an oil can).
That is one thing to look for.
First thing I would have done is a 4 wheel alignment.
If that checks out ok, then check for the rear builkhead...
Hi Rick280 -
I used the dupli-color ceramic header paint to do mine -
Since the calipers do not get anywhere near as hot as the rotors themselves, the 500 degree rating of this seems to be reasonable.
Here is a picture of a can of the stuff I used -...
Hi Sharon -
I am pretty sure that on a C5 you can program each wheel sensor through the DIC options -
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Press the DIC RESET button in order to clear any warning messages.
Press and release the OPTIONS button until the display is blank.
Press and...
Hi t34bravo -

Look under the car in front of the fenderwell - you wil see the access panel -
It is best to do thin on a lift or up on jackstands etc - but it CAN be done on the ground -
