Help Front wiring harness problem 63 vette

IMO if the original harness had the clips, the replacement should too. As Lectric Limited to send them to you, or swap the cable. If you untie the wrap knot where it ends, you can insert the clips and rewrap, but if the cable isn't installed yet, ask to swap it. The AIM is a snapshot in time...

    What safety/security equipment do you...

Driving a lot - yeah - but not thinking of Power Tour this year. They are coming from Kissimmee FL in June and headed for NJ. Way too hot to get more than an hour or two top down before the A-C is running. IMO they need to go back to starting in May when they are south of the northernmost states...

    What safety/security equipment do you...

It all fits in the covered storage areas and in the spare wheel (waterpump and headlamps) - so I can put 2 pullman suitcases, 2 coolers, 2 rucksacks with hiking boots, and a camera case behind the seats, as we head for Rocky mountain hiking trails. Here's pics of the storage (can't get them to...

and if the probe was on the radiator, the fan wouldn't be running on a cold rad.

Strange Electric Fan Answers...(Fans ..Off & On..)

I have always questioned why people tie the fan settings to the engine temperature, since engine temp is controlled by the thermostat - by design. The Derale fan controller monitors radiator temp and is adjustable to allow fans to run when you set the controller to cool the radiator. It does...

    Heater Blower Switch

That's the way A-C cars are wired. Run a 12volt line from the battery/starter/hornrelay to the 30amp fuse if you want 3 blower speeds and higher fan on recirc.

    Heater Blower Switch

Check the fuse and fuse holder at the A-C relay under the hood. You should have 12volts there. The other possibility is the coupe fan terminal on the switch you replaced. If you put the single connector on it instead of the correct spade lug, you get the problem that you have.

Creative Engineering on your Vette projects

Drove the 66 home as a stripped body on a frame - no interior, or working lights or gauges. Raised the car and discovered the crossmember that holds up the gas tank had been replaced with a piece of wood that had bark on it. I also dicovered the rear/trans motor mount was removed to squeeze the...

    While in Gatlinburg this week..

That's why I removed the sidepipe bracket and headers from my 66. Peggy and I took the 66 on a 700 mile round trip 10 days ago to see the fall colors in MN (Check out the news link at my homepage - listed below). Last weekend we added a couple of hundred miles with a trip to Galena (Territory)...

What locates the rear suspension? C2

So can the axles. Measure them. One of mine was 1/8 inch longer than the other (probably off a c3) and if installed in reverse of their previous positions, unequal length shafts alter geometry.

Help on dial up right now... Rim help..

No retention problem, but they dont sit square (they distort) and are hard to remove and replace without scratching the wheel - which is why I cut 3 slots in the mounting surface of each cap about equally spaced and 1 inch long.

Please help!!..cooling question for '67 coupe

Thanks - I got their 800 number - but they only make 160, 180, and 195. If I didn't have A-C I might try the 180F. As it is, someday I may try the 160F and reset the fan control - but I don't like running too cold either. Autozone carries their tstats.

Please help!!..cooling question for '67 coupe

Running the fan on an engine with a stuck tstat will not cool it off. PS: If I could buy a "fail open" 170F tstat for my 66, I would.

Please help!!..cooling question for '67 coupe

The thing a sensor that is plugged into the engine doesn't do is monitor the radiator coolant temp. The tstat should monitor the engine temp and call for rad coolant when needed. An electric fan should respond to rad temp, since it is cooling the rad. Sensing engine temp instead can be a big...
