largest tires without hitting body hwy/city driving,

It's a give and take world. You can go with the ZR1/Grand Sport rear tires and they work just fine (315/35/17) but, that tire will not fit in the spare tire holder. You have to put a flat 315 in the trunk, which means owning a coupe. Most 93-96 C4 came with 285/40/17 tires on the rear. You...

    Hi from the New Guy

Good advice. Test drive as many as you can find in your area. See how they feel and how they fit. Different options deliver different feelings with the driver.

    CB radios?

It's a regular 40 channel CB radio. I have a set of FRS walkie-talkie radios that don't get any use either. I'll let the grand kids figure out what to do with them. ;)

News: Dual-Mode Exhaust - gone loud

Dual mode exhaust is dual mode again! :happyanim: Solenoid was only $77 but they had to take the rear bumper off to get to it. So, the labor was over 400. Ouch. One of the joys of owning a Corvette. :w

News: Dual-Mode Exhaust - gone loud

It seems that there are a couple of "flow control solenoids" in the system and one of them is shorted. So, we're awaiting parts.

News: Dual-Mode Exhaust - gone loud

The exhaust on my 427 Vert decided to go loud yesterday and stay that way. The fuse was blown so I replaced it and the new fuse promptly failed. Tried another, same result. It's at the dealer now. They tell me that there is a short to ground in the wiring and they're trying to run it down...

If you haven't gone to the dealer yet, you might try siphoning some of the excess oil out of the tank with a turkey baster.

Help! Inherited an '81 that's been sitting for 15 years.

You've got a lot to think about here. I inherited a car that had been sitting for only 5 years once and that was a pain. All fluids, belts and hoses will need to be replaced. Clean out the fuel system, old gas leaves a coating on the fuel lines and carbs. Rebuild the brakes. As for the...

    CB radios?

We could try that - no wait, I already did. I bought the CB radio for the 2009 Caravan but I didn't buy the headphones for it. My wife and I found out that a 2-way radio without headphones was pretty much useless in a Corvette convertible. We were always asks people to "come back!" Probably...

    CB radios?

Stud Muffin, do you have your ears on? Smart phones surely ruined the CB industry. When I was at Bowling Green last week, I thought I heard a few transmissions on channel 19. I tried to break in but did not get an answer from any of them. Thought they were truckers on I-65 but maybe not...
