    LT4 Best LT4 Mods

I can't stress enough ... get a tune. When I went from stock, to my LT headers/exhaust I lost 10 HP on the dyno. I was waaaayyyyy rich ... 11.5 A/F ratio. Plus without tuning out the rear O2's with most LT installs, the check engine light will always be on. I've worked on mine some and...

    4+3 vs. ZF 6 spd

I think the blue labels are GM factory, from what I've read the black labels are ZF factory rebuilds. I've even seen double tags .... blue and black. The crash thru shifter came about later in the production run ... maybe '95. The LT5 ZF6 tranny is about 1/2" shorter, so it won't fit right...

    O2 sensor and exhaust leaks

An exhaust leak will cause the O2 sensors to go whacky. If the leak is upstream from the sensors then raw air is being sucked into the exhaust and the sensor sees it as a lean condition so it tells the ECM to add more fuel. The backfiring is caused by unburned fuel igniting in the exhaust...

    tach problem

I would bet its the Tach Filter. Its inline from the tach output from the distributor to the display. My '90's was bad, broken wire strands, and the tach was reading higher than actual. I bought a cheap 2 1/16" tach from Autozone to check it out. When hooked up the little tach read right on...

POLL: Chrome, Silver or Black ZR1 rims on a White 92 coupe? Any pics?

Yep, those and the exhaust. I got so used to the brightness of the new lights that they had to go on the new car. Plus I really like the look :cool . :w

POLL: Chrome, Silver or Black ZR1 rims on a White 92 coupe? Any pics?

Wow this is an old thread. That car had a terrible death just after hurricane Katrina. Here is a pic taken just about a month before it's demise. Here are a few of that car at the NCM during Cruisefest '05. Those were 2000 C5 knock offs, in the stock size 17X9.5 all around...

    Question about keys...

Yes ... and No Yes the door and the ignition are the same key, but there should be a second key. My '68 Camaro had two, the round one locked the glovebox and opened the trunk, the square one unlocked the doors and operated the ignition. Don't know when they changed to seperate ignition and...

The Wave is alive and well!

Yea the 6'ers wave. Got a return from a yellow one a while back. Jane Ann I got a wave from a red C6 on I-10 the other day ... have yet to get a wave from the guy in the black C6, I see him at least once a day, but he's always going the other way. I always wave ... in the truck ... in...

    TPIS or B&B Exhaust

With re-doing the front part of the exhaust you might think about the rear. The TPIS headers come with a front Y-pipe so that gives you a start. Do you have to worry about emmissions? You can get the headers with or with out the fittings for the AIR injection/EGR. When I did mine I ran from...

    Air Cleaner Duct

The plastic knob is just pressed on the knurled end of the actual bolt. One of mine was slipping and the knob would just spin, but not the bolt. Had to press it back on the bolt to get it to loosen up. :w

6 Speed Tranny Problem 90 Vette

There is some good information on the ZF tranny and hydraulic system at this site. http://zfdoc.com There is a page dedicated to the beelding and testing of the hydraulic system. Hope this helps. :w :pat

    security system

My FSM says that the key has to be in the ignition, with the ignition off (bypassing the VATS) before you can turn the PKE on or off, or change the door openings. One cycle will have only drivers door open, another will have both doors open, and the other will have neither door open. I used my...

84 vette, hits 132 mph, and shifts down to 3rd?

In '93 they changed just a bit. From '93 on they are 4L60E's, basically the same parts except for the solenoids, the 4L60E's are electronically controlled and need either a stand alone tranny computer or a PCM that controls the tranny. The computer controls shift points and converter lock up...

    Injector size?

13:1 is still rich compared to stoich, maybe not as rich as you would like. I think you have the right idea adjust the pressure up a bit more. As the vaccuum drops with the higher RPMs the AFPR should also lose some of the vaccuum pull and let the pressure come up to where you set it (with the...

    L98 w/ HOT cam

It should run with the stock chip. The idle will be high ... around 1000 - 1100 ... which will effect your power brakes, but it should run. :w :pat

    Injector size?

I was thinking the same thing. We need more specifics on the "new" motor ... ci, heads, intake. There is a formula for injector size: (HP x BSFC) / (# injectors x duty cycle) = lb/hr You have to realistic though or you won't get a good rating. HP is crank HP BSFC = Brake Specific Fuel...

94 Radiator cooling fan - ECT

The relays for the fans are located near the drivers side headlight, on the side of the radiator shroud. If the fans are coming on with the A/C on then the relays are good. :w :pat
