    The Black Wheel Trend

I understand some like the chrome look, so from the style standpoint, o.k. But you can't dispute the heavy and cheap part. That was really the emphasis when I said they had no business being on a sports car of high caliber. 70's cars get a pass, they are heavy as hell anyway. Most...

    The Black Wheel Trend

Gorgon, Thanks, I didn't want to justify those comments with a response, but glad someone did. Remo, those I-forged look exactly like mine, and stop showing pictures of those killer aftermarket lenses, they cost $180 and I'm damn close to ordering'em

    The Black Wheel Trend

Hey Hotwing, my cars are anything but pimp, they are all classy and understated. Remember, with cars, less is more.

    The Black Wheel Trend

Had the centers of my HRE's painted black, with the polished lip, I love the look. If you must go for bling, polished is the way to go, much classier look than chrome. Chrome is for cars with chrome bumpers. Plus they are cheap and heavy, no business being on a real sports car.

    Mix & Match Tires?

very true, there is an incredible difference in handling. These are performance vehicles, so why not run the rubber that performs best. I could care less about a flat, I've got a cell phone, no big deal. The price of runflats is also a joke when they are outperformed by cheaper tires.

    Mix & Match Tires?

If you like driving on rocks. Anyone who likes runflats needs only to drive a non-runflat equipted vehicle, it's like night and day.

    Newbie with some questions

If you are breaking loose at 20-30mph, you are probably running crappy run-flat tires that are mostly worn out. Let me know if my guess is correct. Another possible cause is many of the performance tires available, especially Bridgestone Potenza, are terrible in the cold weather. With the...

    Squeaky belt

I got it from the Corvette Action Center knowledge base. Article #258,Chevrolet service bull. #99-06-01-007. My wife can send it tomorrow. Till then just do exactly what I say in my previous post, or e-mail me Don2@cox.net

    Squeaky belt

There was a technical advisory put out on this squeek. I can send it to you. I had to show it to my dealer after going through three belts. The advisory is for 97 thru 99 Vettes though, and I noticed you had an 02. Anyway, the advisory states that the squeeking is a result of the idler...

    Traction Control? Never Noticed

Hey Pseudomind, not a big deal, but, is this a Corvette forum or a forum for you to tell me my religion is divisive? Keep it to yourself.

    Body work

I've had many similiar jobs done. Pretty straight forward, if they don't fix it correctly, make'em do it again till it's right.

    BF Goodrich g-Force K/A KDW-2's

Hey redvette, those sizes will fit, they have just a slightly lower profile. And Remo, when you are ready, bolt on a good set of 2 or 3 piece alum. wheels, you'll be amazed at the difference in feel. Unsprung weight affects the car much more than sprung. Anyone out there know the formula for...

    BF Goodrich g-Force K/A KDW-2's

I love these tires, got'em on my 70 Monte. Hey Remo, what king of chrome Z06 wheels did you buy? What do they weigh compared to stock? The reason I'm asking is that if you got aftermarket steel/chrome wheels, not polished or painted aluminum, they dramatically affect the performance of the...

    Tire plugs on Z06?

I will no longer give advice to anyone who says Zed Naught Six.

    Tire plugs on Z06?

If you pull it out and it leaks, run flat probably will not seal it, so be ready with the plug kit. I would'nt say DO NOT plug these tires, because you CAN plug these tires with no problems. I will say that yes, a patch is a better way to fix it, but not by much. If you opt for the patch, the...

    Tire plugs on Z06?

I did it, two years ago, still fine. The pansies at any tire place will say no so you can buy another tire. Go to Pep Boys and buy a plug kit for like 10 bucks and do it in the driveway.

    Show Off Those Silver C5's

Hey Pseudomind, I think that was a Tigershark rear clip, you can buy'em all over the net.

Z06 wheels with rubber - for sale

I know it's not a Z06, just wondered why, if you had the wheels to accomodate the larger size rubber, you opted for the stock C5 size? It's not common that you see Z06 size wheels with stock C5 rubber.

    Need help on wheel sizes
