The injectors are fired by 2 large FETs (Field Effect Transistors) on the ECM board. They are connected to the Injectors by the Blue and Green wires on one side of the the Injectors. The other side of the injector is fused to the ignition (12V) source.
If you put a test light on the Blue and...
I credit all those who have helped me in the past.
This wasn't the first time something like this has happened.
Thanks to The Corvette Action Center, I was able to get the answers to solve my problems in the past as you are doing now.
Look at my post count! Most of the originals were requests...
The pump comes out with the filler neck. No need to drop the tank.
Take off the filler lid, rubber boot. Then you will see the screws that hold the filler neck to the tank. The whole assembly comes out if you rotate it just right.
I think you need to check the rubber hose on the pump. You will...
Well, you got the pump running. That's great!
So now you need to pump something good into the injectors.
OLD GAS NO GOOD. You probably should disconnect the fuel filter under the passenger side door sill, and drain the gas from the tank.
Siphon as much as you can out of the tank, and then let...
Front = passenger side. Rear = drivers side.
I would replace them both. After all, they are the same age and milage.
You don't want to have to do it again if the other one fails.
Next to the battery is a fuseblock for the ECM in the rear outside corner of the battery compartment. You will also see a stud that has a red wire that runs from the battery terminal to the stud, and one that runs from the stud to the ECM fuse. There is a 3rd large wire that runs from the stud...
Do not run a hard wire directly to the pump. Put a 10 Amp fuse in line with it if you run a hot wire from the battery so it will have some overcurrent protection.
Remember that the pump is INSIDE the fuel tank!
That's the one place you DON'T want to have a SPARK!
If you want to try hard wiring...
Believe it or not, I typed in a full 1-1/2 Hr. qustion- by- question response earlier and lost all of it when my server connection went down in a thunderstorm. I don't have enough time left to do it all over right now. Sorry!
So this will be the shortened version.
It is my belief that your...
Te relay is located behind the seats in between, and under the two storage compartments. Take those out and you will see it an a couple of others for the anti-theft system.
Look here for a complete list of how and where the electrical signals operate the fuel pump relay from the ECM...
Fuel pump not working and fuel gauge pegged at full have one thing in common.
A bad ground connection at the fuel pump/ tank connection.
That will result in both of those symptoms.
The pump and the gauge are both mounted on a metal tube inside the filler neck of the tank.
If it doesn't have a...
I know that on my 82 the advance bypass wire was a solid wire, not with a connector on it. If you look at the article in Vette Fever about tuning the Crossfire, they make several jumpers to connect all the wires except the bypass wire. That's how I had to do it. It's the Brown Wire of the four...
Here, read this on code 42 and possible causes.

:wA good way to test the knock sensor is to put a timing light on the #1 plug wire and watch to see what the spark advance is doing.
Whack the block with a ball peen hammer and the knock sensoe will see it as a knock and retard the timing. It will do it every time you tap the block. If it does...
Short pin A and B together on the ALDL connector then turn the key to on opsition, but don't crank the engine.

They don't post the codes here but tell us what you get. I have code list.
Most are here.

What does it do, or not do?
If you short A and B and turn the key on, it should blink 12 three times then the code(s) then 12 again three times.

Does it do anything? The CEL is coming on, so the computer is doing something.
I agree with Gary!
We didn't get here by being experts overnight. We all have been on a long learing curve over many years, some by trial and error.
If not for the help of my friends on this forum, I would still be wrestling with the problems my Vette had when I first got it.
Having a basic...
