Maybe God* put some sludge in your fuel tank that is clogging up the fuel pump pickup sock going downhill.;LOL
Seriously.
And don't try too hard to get the fuel lines off between the carbs.
I have one set of TB's that the threads stripped completely out of because "I just had to the the lines...
Someone once told me a saying that I have since repeated to many others along the way. And so I will tell it to you.
Some people see the big picture, and fail to appreciate the many minute parts that make it so.
Some people see a small part and fail to realize its signifigance in the big...
If it means not getting to work, you could always put the plug base back in and run on 7 cylinders. Just pull the #5 plug wire off at the distibutor for the short term.
It wouldn't be any worse than my Vette with 2 rounded cam lobes when I got it.
Just make sure it cools off before you put the...
Assuming you fixed the coolant leak and the system is airtight, I wager that most of your overflow tank will suck back into the system. Next time you fire it up, the temp. should be normal.
Every time you cycle the engine a little more air will burp out, and a little more coolant will replace it.
I haven't seen that one.
I put one of these on mine to cure the "bucking bronco" syndrome I had at high RPM's when I let off the throttle.

I have seen this one from Turbo City. Basically an ECM swap out for a faster one. Repinning harness instructions included.

I used to be there a lot.
But I upgraded from IE6 to IE7 and now I can't log in anymore.:mad
Hey Twinnie, how about putting in an IE7 patch so I can get back in?
The original gaskets were a clear plastic (nylon or similar) the new ones that came with my IAC's are fiber gaskets. I would think that the ones you made are probably doing the job as well as need be.
Mine has been doing strange things as well.
One day it runs just fine, and the next it seems...
Are you breaking in the cam?
If you have a roller cam, no break-in is necessary.
If you are using flat tappet hydraulic lifters it is.
Fill the radiator until full, and the overflow tank.
Squeeze the upper radiator hose a few times to burp the air out of it. It will not fill with coolant...
Sorry Stephan,
I was gone for two weeks.
You are probably right about the vaccuum leak if the headlight is slow. The accumulator can is under the drivers side fender. You can disconnect the hose at the manifold and put a "T" fitting on with a vaccuum gauge on it to measure your leaking rate...
Always check for continuity using a volt/ohm meter. It eliminates guesswork.
I would pull all the fuses one at at time and check them with an ohm meter.
The 81 fuses are really hard to see up there under the dash. One might still be blown, even if it looks good visually.
The other possibilty is...
Make sure you dis-connect the battery first, and remove the inspection cover from the transmission/flywheel.
Remove the nuts that hold the bracket to the stud on the front of the starter.
Then remove the two 9/16" bolts that hold the starter onto the block. Drop the starter down and toward the...
Good to hear that you got it fixed.
I'm going to upgrade mine sometime in the future, so It's nice to know that the swap worked on the CTS.
:beer
P.S. Don't worry about the air pump until it sounds like a rock crusher.
And don't take it apart. It's impossible to get back together again.
I speak...
$3.60/Gal for 93 octane at BJ's wholesale club yesterday.
It has jumped 15 cents in the last week.
Time to get the Harley back on the road! You can't argue with 65 MPG.
Ok, found a resource here.

It looks like the original CTS has one of the wires going to the case ground inside the sensor. That would be the black wire, so ohm out the sensor to see if one of the leads is connected to the threads on the sensor...
Wow, you really can't tell one wire from another on that connector can you? I'm going to see if there is any info out there on the www for this. Be back soon!
