Thanks. I have owned 4 vettes in my 60 years and have never had this condition. I thought I paid for a better brake that can handle the more aggressive braking. (within reason)
Has anyone experienced rotor warping on their Z-51 (J-55) heavy duty brakes. I have only 9300 miles on my 08 and had bad warpage. The dealer machined the front rotors for me and this seemed to fix the problem. I just thought it was a bit soon.
These are some lean times. Priorities are different for everyone. Basic survival -food, shelter and transportation are necessities. The Corvette is way beyond basic in my opinion. But I love mine and hope to see the next "Vette" as secure as possible with a pricetag that some can continue to...
I had my check engine light come on for CAGS. DEALER REPLACED IT FREE OF CHARGE,as they installed it when I purchased the vehicle. Only 4550 miles on it and about 11 months old. Strange!!!
On a closely related issue, my clutch reservoir (DOT 4) fluid is very black and my vehicle has only 4400 miles on it. The dealer said it is just due to its (reservoir) location. I do drive the car sportingly and I catch myself resting my left foot on the clutch petal occasionally. Should I be...
Not to mess with anyone. But I thought SAE measurements came about to get a true measure of HP & Torque in the early 70's. (IE: SAE=RWHP)
and by the way Lloyd's is the only way to go in floormats.
I must be one lucky SOG. I went from 430HP stock to 467HP after all was said and done. Accomplished with only corcsa sport exhaust and the Callaway CIA. Got the papers!! And she does not run over 210F. Everything else is stock except the little bouncing dog thingamagigee on the dash.
XM-Radio
The sound of exhausts, tires and a roaring engine just seem to overwhelm me still at this old age of 59. Sliding through those 6 gears effortlessly and watching my passport 8500 closely. My bag.
On the other hand my wife listens to her mustang's SIRIUS radio all the -----time car...
I vote for the Calloway Honker. I was able to install mine in my garage just using a low jack and the pucks. Hardest part was getting the radiator shroud out. All that said with it installed and a set of Corsa Sport exhaust The "Orange Ghost" smokes. I love it. Good luck. You won't go...
xm
I had rather listen to my exhausts as I go through the gears. I let mine expire. I found myself only using it once or twice. CD when I do want my music.
z-51 my choice
Flash, You have made a good case. Never had the thing so I cannot say from experience. Not getting into the specifits of the spring rates and the suspension specs of my z-51, perhaps a computer constantly in nanoseconds thinking about the road conditions you are currently...
Z-51 Positive
You are right about the tires. BUT, the z-51 handling package is as i stated before a superb suspension. Meant to handle with finess and skill. I will admit I have never had a muliti-postion shock absorbing system with controls in the car managed by a computer. But I have had...
This Z-51 is like no other I have ever had in the old days. It rides as smooth as a babies ass until you challange it for what it is intended-- my case street rodding and aggressive cornering. It is awesome. Don't be misled buy earlier gym-khana suspensions that were much stiffer....Good Luck...
garage flooring
Try out this site. I bought the coin 7 or 8mm type and rolled it all out in the summer as you have to emtpy your garge. It comes in various lenths and colors, even a couple of dif designs. I have had it for about 6 mouths and am very pleased...
A super job in the pursuit of LS3 engine and related data. I opted to buy the corsa sport exhaust instead of the NPP. About the same $. As the man said "Great work and much appreciated".
