Two of the three HVAC switches on my 99 FRC have broken at the same time and I need to order some replacements. Anyone have a part number? I do not have auto temp control, just the basic HVAC controller. The part number that I've found that looks like it could be a match is 16203804 but I...
The Corvette as it sits is a great car. My real gripe is the lack of supportive seats in a car that is capable of generating g-forces like the Corvette can. All the Honda's I've ever owned have supplied better lateral support than any Corvette seat I've ever been in.

This is the gripe with my B&B Tri-Flo on my FRC, it drones at 70mph in 6th gear. I'm thinking of a C6 and think that the NPP might be the best of both, nicer sound when wanted, quieter at idle/cruise so I can hold a conversation on a cell phone. As it sits I try not to do too much since it's...
My understanding is that the GM Performance Exhaust is not the NPP exhaust, but it a GM badged aftermarket exhaust made by Corsa or maybe B&B. Hopefully others with some more knowledge will pop in soon.

The C6 Z06 clutch requires a C6 pressure plate and there's a different throw-out bearing. The clutch/pressure plate assembly bolts right in to the C5 setup. The problem is that the clutch/pressure plate assembly is slightly thicker than the C5 setup and it wouldn't fit into the opening on the...
I realize this thread is a bit dated but...
Just over 136k miles on my FRC and the thing keeps going. Just replaced the starter, two years ago it got a C6 Z06 clutch (though it didn't need), radiator and water pump, and lots of tires over the years. ;) The drivetrain itself and engine have...
These cars get very screwy with a dead battery or low voltage. My battery lost a cell without warning and it was a total mess. Couldn't jump start it or anything. Went down to Walmart and got a battery and dropped it in and away I went, no codes, no problems. Just be warned, there can be no...
I know EXACTLY what you mean. I didn't love the C5 when it first came out but it grew on me, but I LOVE the C6. And when the LS3 came out for '08 it's so hard to pass up. So now I sit in a similar situation where financially it would help to sell the C5 to help pay for the C6 but at the end...
You have a have a serious set of cojones to drive that car like that. :eek
A little bit of each. I paused the movie to respond and then went back and saw what you mean. There are a couple times where there was enough of a bump to reduce the traction of the rear wheels enough for some spin...
I've been giving it some serious thought lately. I REALLY like the LS3 and since taking a new job I now get the supplier discount with GM. My C5 has just turned 135k miles and it's starting to feel a little worn. Now that I'm living in the NE there are more days to take advantage of a...
I use the Castrol GTLMA fluid. Make sure that your fluid is DOT3/DOT4 and not silicone.

I just had to get the car inspected and an oil change so I had the brake fluid changed as well so I'm covered...
The complaint is that for a sports car the seats are flimsy and unsupportive. For a car that is capable of generating g-forces at a whim the seats need to provide better lateral support. When driving during an HPDE event I need to brace myself from every angle with my arms and legs to minimize...
Actually, if it runs fine when it's cold then you have a sensor issue once it starts running closed loop. Check to see if you have any codes before spending the money on an injector flush. O2 sensor perhaps? I had a similar issue on my C4 that was an O2. Check for codes first.

Fox12, welcome to the Corvette Action Center! :D
Let's see if we had a similar situation. My car would bog a bit at lower RPM. It was really pronounced when the A/C was on. When the car was under 1000 RPM the engine would miss and almost stall out. Once the RPM's were up the miss wasn't...
