    water pump

I agree with everyone else about the "might as well" philosophy. Hey, what about your timing chain. If you have the pump off, and you have high miles, might as well consider a new chain.

    Headlight door alignment

Yes, over time the screws can become loose, it happened on my headlights. You can pretty much eyeball it, loosen all the screws and move it around while observing that there is an equidistant gap all the way around from the hood side, then tighten up. The headlight panel itself can also be...

    Wheel Fins

The sawblade wheels are directional. I don't know how anyone could mount them improperly, since they are stamped left-hand and right-hand. The wheels on this car are mounted properly...

    Banned Corvette Commercial

Let's just hope that the bored soccer moms with plenty of free time who stopped the commercial never form a political lobbying group. I wonder if they shield their children's eyes from the sinful curves of the corvette when one of them pulls up next to their minivan at a stoplight.

    NEW VET OWNER

I think it's great for an 18-year-old to get a corvette. I wish I could have gotten one at that age. It's great to have one at any age of course, but to have one at 18, that's killer.

    "merry christmas guys/girls" from glen/Australia

ho ho ho, merry christmas down under! I wish I could find tim tams here, but no one carries them. Oh well.

    Hood Alignment

My service manual shows several shims for the bumper, located on the front cross member. If they removed the hood, it's impossible to line it up again, there are about a million different directions the hood can go. I have several photos of a c4 on the factory assembly line, and it looks like...

    Replacing Brake Boster DIY?

I've done it twice, there are only a couple of bolts that hold it in, but getting to them is a bear. Here's how I did it, if I recall correctly: remove the two mounting bolts holding the master cylinder to the booster, gently move the m/c out of the way. Now comes the hard part: unless you...

    85 C-4

I agree that you get what you pay for. One thing is for sure, you will be making repairs on pretty much any C4 you buy. As an owner of an 89, which BTW has pretty much the same electronics, I don't agree that an 89 has "electrical nightmares". Look for a car that has a service history...

" how to replace turn signal stork?"

stork, stock, tomato, to-mah-to, it's pretty clear what he meant to say.

    TireRack Conversation Report

When I bought tires from them, I was pleased with their selection and happy with their customer service, low prices, and fast shipping. I don't really understand the issue here, if you want other brands, go somewhere else. No single company is going to carry all brands of anything, this is...

    AMAZING C4 (for sale)

It certainly seems to be rare, but to be honest I don't see that much of a difference between a stock car. The wheels, roll cage, and graphics are unusual, but if there is anything else about it that sets it apart, maybe someone could enlighten me. According to the Corvette Black Book, they...

    C4 with a big block--possible?

I'm always astounded by Grumpy's in-depth posts. There's an amazing amount of information there. He's an asset to the forum.

I think I have found the most counter-productive mod...

??? I don't see the big deal about the intake, unless you have a hood scoop or something, all your air is coming from under the hood anyway. And unless you've done a throttle body bypass, your intake air is going to be heated no matter what. I must say those wheels look ridiculous, but...

    Water pump on '90 convertible

Yes, it makes an awful racket when it's going out, and there will be coolant coming from the weep hole.

    C4 Headlamp motor bushings

I agree, that was the article I used when I changed mine. Pictures and everything.

    C4 Hood Metal Bracing

I agree with this advice, I have gotten many good used parts from them and they ship right away.

Steering Wheel Restoration / Interior Carpet and Doors

You can install the carpet yourself, it's really not that hard, but everything has to come out of the interior, all the trim pieces, the console sides, seat belts, etc.
