    holley electric pump and relay

Hope it works, I know I gave you the proper advice, I just hope I explained it properly. Good luck,

Shots of my installed speedway sway bar

This is the kit or rather the parts I ordered. I needed something to start with. I modified the arms quit a bit to fit my application I cut about 10 inches off the length of the arms and then cut just in front of the spline and rewelded to give me a ¾ inch offset. I have 100% penetration...

    holley electric pump and relay

One wire is the 12 volt power supply and the other is ground. To hook up a relay and I always use relays. Hook the relay to a good source of 12 volts, The relay has a set of heavy duty 30 amp contacts use one contact for the 12 volts and the other contact run to the pump 12 volt supply line...

    Shots of my rear tires

Thanks. It has been an ongoing project for 14 or 15 years. I use to post alot about transmission swaps and building motors, especially my blown big block. That is behind me now and I am on to other things. Next year it might be all about homemade rac and pinion steering, who knows. Thanks

    My new speedway bar

I was not happy with the old 7/8th sway bar so I ordered a Speedway 1 ¼ hollow bar. While it is hollow it is supposedly 20% stiffer then a stock 1 ¼ bar. This is the overall kit consisting of a 37 ½ inch bar, 2 splined arms that will be going on a massive diet, two pillow blocks that have no...

    Shots of my rear tires

These are shots of my new back tires and rims. They are 10 inch wide with 6 ½ backspacing and 18 inch with 285 x 40 pirelli tires This is a shot of how it fits inside the fender well. With proper backspacing and a little work it is centered in the well and easily fits. This shows a...

    Ashot of my rim/tire/rotor

The shot doesn't do it justice. It looks mean but I tried a few pictures and they always look wimpy. Anyway this is one of my new 18 inch rims. The backs are 10 x 18 with 6 1/2 backspacing and the front are 18 x 8 with 4 1/2 backspacing. The front tires are BFG 245 x 45 x 18 KDW The rears are...

    Having My 427 Rebuilt

Might not increase the value but the street torque will be up as will the horsepower. As for blue printing it is not a cheap way to go. To properly blue print the motor is machined, assembled, everything checked for clearance and then pulled back apart and machined a second time to these specs...

    control valve

Another important thing is don't overgrease, Overgreasing destroys the valve. There is a big warning on new valves not to grease. One pump of the gun is all after a few years. Don't pump until grease comes out somewhere. Infact don't grease at all.

How I get away with 6 1/2 inch backspacing

I have often been asked how I can get away with 6 ½ inch backspacing and Twin Turbo provided me with a good picture to compare our frames, his unmodified and mine modified. This is Twin Turbo’s frame unmodified in the area right around the spring pocket. This is my frame with the area...

How do you true a spindle??

If you indicate the hub and find a spot that is say .001 high a little careful work with a fine file can remove that high spot bring your runout down to an acceptable level. Removing the whole axle, chucking it in the lathe will not guarantee to improve on your existing runout.

How do you true a spindle??

It would be very easy to chuck something in the lathe and face it but sometimes even a good lathe can cut a .001 or .002 out just in the setup of the part. When you are looking for .003 absolute maximum 7 inches out .001 runout is not acceptable so the only solution is indicate what you have a...

How do you true a spindle??

This is how I fixed the runout problem. . Knock out the 5 studs then indicate the face finding the high spots. I would mark high or low at each of the 5 stud postions and then either set it up in the lathe to match these values and lightly skin cut the mounting face or take a grinder a lightly...

How do you true a spindle??

I expect more accuracy then the factory. If you met all their tolerance it is still possible to be outside their tolerances. Doesn't make sense?? The factory allowed wheel bearing play is .001-.008. If you take the .008. The factory allowable runout on rotors is up to .005. Take the ,005...

Balancing my new 14 inch rotors

Thanks Pete. Everything I do on the car I do my best. Time means nothing. I am just as fussy with the house, the yard, my horse , everything. Do your best and you don't have to make excusses

Balancing my new 14 inch rotors

I finished trueing up the rotors this afternoon and got them within .002 or .003 runout. The next thing is to balance the assembly. I made a balancer witch consist of a very fine bearing and a plate that just matches the internal hole in the rotor assembly . You mount it in a vise on in my...

How do you true a spindle??

am finally installing the new 14 inch front rotors. They have been machined as a unit and I know that all surfaces are true to each other. The next step was installing the rotor on the hub. It is going to be going on and then marking one stud, torque the 5 lug nuts and then with a dial indicator...

    Having My 427 Rebuilt

You don't bore to get a 454 you change the crank for a longer stroke. That is what I was going to suggest, put in a 454 crank, the rods are the same and you are replacing the pistons anyway. A 454 will put out about 25 horse more then a identical 427 and as for revs the 454 will easily take 7000.

71 BIG BLOCK 3" EXHAUST SYSTEM

71 BIG BLOCK 3" EXHAUST SYSTEM

I have 3 inch all the way back but I didn't go through the existing transmission crossmember holes, I closed them up and cut half moons a little further outboard. Actually straight back from the collectors. I also run Turbo mufflers because I feel the flowmasters are too loud and without a tail...
