    heater core quote

For $380 it is a bargain if A/C equipped. Again if A/C equipped, here is the firewall bolt(engine side) that some people miss. This will be your problem if you haven't loosened it off. And just for reference... http://www.corvettemagazine.com/content/view/81/

    Drove by the dealer today...

So true. I can't afford a new one but I believe the inventory is backed up about 95 days. Dealers will be in panic mood soon if not already.

    Drove by the dealer today...

You may wish to ask him why the Bowling Green plant is shutting down because of excess Corvette inventory. They are simply not selling in this depressed economy.

    Is this a classic scam?

You didn't say what country that came from but even a cashier's cheque Canada/USA takes 10-15 business days to clear.

Question: Do I really need to disasemble the whole dash?

I don't know why you can't see how it is done from the pics?? http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/heatercore.html

    Question: It's me again...taking a poll!

Thank you. I rather like this car. Last drive of the season last Sunday. It took several months but I finally finished the interior.

Question: Do I really need to disasemble the whole dash?

Whatever way, the coolant will not flow to the core when that valve is closed.

Question: Do I really need to disasemble the whole dash?

I can't recall which is input and which is return. It's on the 5/8" hose; standard garden hose size.

Question: Do I really need to disasemble the whole dash?

It's easier to spend $10.00 at Home Depot and control the coolant flow manually.

Question: Do I really need to disasemble the whole dash?

I did my 1974 (with A/C) in June. I do not wish that job on anyone. As to 1970 and 1979, I really do not know. The core is common 1968-79 but the firewall configuration may differ. Perhaps others will have a better idea.

Question: Do I really need to disasemble the whole dash?

I have done it from the front/firewall on a couple of occasions. Here's my write-up from the year 2000. http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/heatercore.html

    convertible interior lighting

I can speak for 1974. One in each of the footwells and this one in the back. The map light in the rearview mirror was optional.

convertible rear speaker box how to do it

Not a lot of room. I have a KHE-300 (50W x 4) with four Pioneer 4 x 6" speakers: two in upper dash and two in kick panels. I sold my 1967 coupe in July but here was the setup. Off the shelf from FutureShop. They might work in a C3 convertible but measure carefully...
