    Dome Lamp Timer?

Hi Jeff, This is on the "81". I still haven't had time to check it out, may have to wait a couple of weeks til the other home projects get completed.

auto or not to auto that is the question.

Skant, You are of course forgetting that most pro dragsters use a manually operated automatic. I still stick with the idea of what you are using the car for, if it's drag racing the auto is much more consistant, which is what drag racing is all about.

auto or not to auto that is the question.

I think you have to think about the type of driving you do, or intend to do with the car. If it's a daily driver, and you're going to spend a lot of time in traffic jams - auto is the only way to go. If it is a weekend cruiser, and you drive a lot of windy roads - no doubt a manual. If you want...

    Dome Lamp Timer?

Well, it looks as though I will have to pull it out and have a look see. While it's out I will pull it apart to see if it is something I want to deal with, if not, I'll have to replace it anyway. Thanks for the information!

    Dome Lamp Timer?

I tend to agree with you about a blown circuit somewhere. This was one of those things when it happened I asked myself, "why were you so stupid!". Is there a way to test this circuit to see if it has failed? Can it be bypassed altogether? I really don't car about the delay, I'd be happy if the...

    Dome Lamp Timer?

Thanks all for the insight. I will pull it out next time I have some time available. I hope that is where the problem lies.

    Dome Lamp Timer?

Thanks for the info, I tried to look behind the glovebox, but I think it will have to be removed to see anything back there. How much does your friends cost? How do I contact him if I am interested?

    Dome Lamp Timer?

Does anyone know the location of the dome lamp timer? I think mine may have went out, or I shorted it out to be more accurate. The interior lights do not turn off, I had to remove the light bulbs. It was working fine til I accidently shorted accross the dome light, now the lights won't turn off...

    Silver Interior Questions

The "81" Silver is a unique year specific color. If the car was repaired by someone who didn't have any knowledge they may have used parts for a different year, which would explain the grey parts. You can get most parts from the major suppliers like Corvette America (800) 458-3475, Corvette...

    values on corvettes going down?

I agree, the ZR1's esp have lost a higher percentage of value. When you consider that they cost 2 times what a vette went for new. So an LT1 that went for 32k, vs a ZR1 for 64k, vs today the LT1 goes for say 12k, the ZR1 22k, sounds to me like you gave up 20k for using the LT1 for 10 years, vs...

    Looked At A New C6

Hi Erick, You would have had to be at the monthly meeting to know about it. Kurt gave us an invitation for the following Thursday, for "club only" test drives. The car drove very well, you can feel the power. Drastic difference in handleing compared to a C4, but not so different than a C5. It...

    Looked At A New C6

Kurt Mietz of Anderson Chevrolet in Menlo Park, Ca invited our club, Santa Clara Corvettes, to test drive one. Nice running car, they are pretty much sold as they are delivered for now, but that should clear up in a month or so. We also had one (the same one) at our "Corvette Spectacular" car...

    Fuel Rail Letters

You should be fine with the chrome, they shouldn't rub against anything, just be careful when you clean them.

after market torque converters? (step inside)

I don't remember the brand I had put in mine when I had the tranny rebuilt, but I had a 2500 stall speed put in, and I am extremely happy with it. Not too much stall for the street, and launches great at the track.

    e brake adjustment

You can adjust it at the handle by ratcheting the handle about three times, pull it tight, release, tighten, release, tighten, release. See if that helps.

    Rear end

If it were I, if I were going to go through the trouble of taking the rear end apart I would go to at least 3.42 range. I suspect you have an auto trans? I have the 3.07's in my "94", and wouldn't mind having a little taller gears.
