I have the Bosch +4's in my C4, and have been very happy with their performance. I haven't tried them in my "81" as of yet.

Well I'd say if your buying an LT1, the numbers matching is very important, and always is as far a top value is conserned. The correct LT1 engine, and solid lifters is what the car is all about, not just the hood and badging.
