    WATER PUMPS Whats different????

The length of the pump from the face of pump that fits the block to the pully mount is 1/16th of an inch longer on the Corvette pump. The Corvette pump has a 3/4 inch diameter shaft while the standard short pump has a 5/8ths shaft.

    A-arm removal

The rad. shroud and the alt. will have to come off to torque the nuts back up when you're done. No sense fighting past the stuff if they've got to come off later.

High rise hood for 82 vette

I got my L-88 hood with the air-box from J.C. Whitney. I'm quite happy with it. It will work with a small block with an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air-Gap.

79 Vette Brake Problems; spongy pedal

Turn the rotors. The rotors get slightly out of round and bump the pads back after a while causing a spongy feel to the brakes since the pads have to move quite a ways to the rotor. I didn't belive it either until a friend talked me in to trying to have the rotors turned before we replaced the...

Warmup time, over-cooling, and block heaters

These are what I was refering to in the post above. Cheaper versions can be found if you search the web a bit. They do work great. The Hydro-Boost is in and ready for a test drive. That won't happen until in the morning.

Warmup time, over-cooling, and block heaters

On aircraft we use a heater that glues to the side of the tank or case that we want to have heated prior to startup. They work great and there is no open hole to an oil sump to leak. The same can be used on the oil pan, just clean off the paint in the area that you are going to stick the...

    Engine Compartment Heat

If you have the stock rams horn manifolds check the heat riser valve and the connection between it and the header pipe. On my car I found the gasket was blocking half of the exhaust area below the heat riser valve.

    HELP!!! Brake booster clevis problem

Sounds like it's time to do some junkyard shopping. There are some Corvette junkyards that should be able to help you. Here's one that I had bookmarked. I have not done any business with them. http://corvettesalvage.com/index.html

    HELP!!! Brake booster clevis problem

I had modified my clevis during the installation of a 7" booster so when I read the instructions for the hydroboost sysem and saw that I needed to reuse my old clevis I called Paul at Hydroboost. he was able to locate one in his pile of parts. If he can't find another for you try here...

    More intake questions

Your camshaft selection and the intended uses of your engine should be the driving factors on which intake you use. Since you have enough hood clearance I would use the RPM Air-Gap if it were me. I'm not a big fan of adapters though so the fact that the Q-jet style is not available in the RPM...

Performance improvements (cams, nitrous, and some other thoughts)

Decide on what camshaft you want before getting a new torque converter. The cam mfg. will have some strong opnions on what torque converter that you use based on your engine and drivtrain. Listen to them.

    Front Suspension Mods

I've finished my installation and alignment and even when on a poker run with my new front suspension now. This thing handles like a big go-cart now, it's great. The suspension compliance on the front is much better than before. I was surprised that the ride got smoother in the process...

    16" or 17" rims for my '82?

Why don't you troll this site where you'll see everything from stock rallys to 20 inch hoops. http://www.vettefinders.com/79registry/homesivu.htm They are on '79's but they'll look close. Those 20 inch wheels make me hot ;worship

    16" or 17" rims for my '82?

I put 17 inch wheels on my '79 and can vouch that the ride is greatly deterioated. I currently have my tire pressure down to 20 pounds to make the ride aceptable to my wife.

    Front Suspension Mods

I got the VB&P kit that included the lower A-arms. I kept my upper A-arms with poly bushings. I finished the project about midnight last night with no drama at all, it was a straight forward bolt on swap. I can't speak for the handling yet, the alignment is WAYYY off. I'm leaving in a few...
