Mine broke on the right side on my 80. ( mine also came completely off but was held in place by the washers on the through bolts) Had a 1/2" fillit welded in to keep it there. I found it during an oil change during the normal look around & grease job. I suggest everyone take a look on their car...
If you havent removed your hood yet, drill and tap 3 . 1/4"-24 holes in each hinge. This will work as a net locator when you put the hood back on and won't have to adjust the hood for fit. Here's GMs parts site, they have some great deals on crate motors with warrenty...
The new studs should be OK. I put mine in finger tight. On the filters I would replace them and add another pre-filter inline, this would also give you a little more line to play with so you don't bend any other line and kink it, it could crack and leak while driving. What type of spacer did you...
If you get an phenolic spacer, make sure that its flat. I found out thru the years when someone complained about breaking a baseplate ear off, they put on a phenolic spacer and easy to over torque. Wood is better for the vacuum signal and heat.
I prefer alumium ones. matchframe is correct on...
The 406 block is the same size and hole locations are the same as a 350.
The reason is the different size on the radiator neck, and the matching size one on the thermostat housing. I used a stainless steel braded hose on mine. Measure across the neck on the ID and that will tell you the size...
I have just finished my interior with new gage's and painted ALL the part's in the interior, plus I put on a clear coat to help even it out.Paint was from Ecklers. I just posted 2 PICs in my album of the FOD.
This site will tell you everything about every intake made and how it flows, plus some on carbs. This is one of the best intake sites I have found, it may say Mopar but covers ALL manufactures.

I like the flares, It must really help with the stone chips, what size tires are you using? I think I mite put the smaller flair's on my next paint job in a few years. I just put the recessed training arms, I haven't found the rims that I wont yet . Their supposed to take 2"s more under the...
Vanacore corvette has them on their site.
I just put on the offset trailing arms for a 2" wider tire underneath the car. No flares needed. I havent got the new rims and tires as of yet.

Look at the old gaskets and see if you can see where the leak was or if the inside was touching the throttle blades. It would be good to know what the problem was just in case. Great to hear thats its running good.

Here's another good site for Rochester carbs with manual and trouble guide.
If the carb's off you should be able to see light thru it if it's open.

Check the rear throttle blade's to see if their shut all the way.
If their open the slightest it will give you the problem as described. Push down while running on the rear of the butterflies with a thin screwdriver very easy, if it changes thats your problem. I just fixed one with the same problem.
I agree with the other 2 post. You can get a synchronizer to help tune the carb's in, very easy to do. If you need help my friend just done a complete restore on a 67 with tri-power and had no problem. They said the same on cross ram intake's with 2,
4 barrel's and I have no problem in tuning...
