Question: Restoring the Paintwork on a White 1990

Well, a complete paint job is the only true fix. Here is a suggestion that you might try. there are some waxes on the market that are colored , they claim they will hide the the imperfections. I used the black color on a truck I was selling and it worked fairly well.

Help, New ECM, major loss of power

Did you remove battery cable before replcing the ECM? If not I agree with tmkassin, Disconnect for 10 minutes then reconnect and drive it for about 30 or 40 miles, long enough for it to send some sidnals out a relearn. If this doesn't fix it take it back.

I used to sell paint to the Maaco in Tulsa , They did very little prep , most of the paint was a synthetic enamel, single stage. However you can upgrade to a cheaper Base/clear and they will do some prep.

Question: Bringin an 86 back to life

Glenn is correct with his assesment. I have done it both ways, depending on the amount of restoration that I am doing. painting last is friendly to the paint but if you don't tape it up good you risk overspray. If you are just painting the outer shell and staying with the same color paint last.
