    1984 AC Question

Before I hit the panic button on a changeover, I would want to know if the system was still under pressure and then verify that the clutch will engauge. You might have a Machanical problem. I just went through all of this on my 90. My first thought was low on R12 but it turned out to be the...

How Quicker with 4:10 Gears ?

4:10 gears are pretty low. Thats 1/4 mile stuff alright. My question would be how is this going to effect highway driving? Rpm's at 70 MPH? I know it caused some issues with the older cars I have owned. May not be a problem with newer cars.

    Vacuum Leak ?

Now that I think of it, I used WD40 and would spray it aroung the area I thought was the problem. Used it around the Carb, or the Intake. I forgot about that. The engine will increase in rpm's if is sucking the fluid in. We used WD 40 , I guess you could use Carb cleaner. Be Carefull!!

    Vacuum Leak ?

sometimes you can hear them, sometimes you can go through the pull it off and see what happens routine. Do you have a manifold Vacuum guage? that might help. I will cheat, I have a TIF6500 vacuum leak detector that I got when I was a Mfg Rep for them in the mid 90's. I have never used it, but...

Question: Will opening up an exhaust cause power loss?

I don't know if it applies to this application, But as far as back pressure is concerned, you will lose low end torque on a stock Harley with straight pipes unless you make other modifications. In fact, they sell torque cones to help with the issue. I tried it. Went back to the Screaming Eagle...
