my 90 went through the start but would not stay running ordeal, it turned out to be the IAC motor. I don't know if the 86 has one or not.

The W/S is set in urathane. The Weatherstriping you are talking about looks like one piece that goes around the top and down the A pillar. It looks like it uses a plastic rivet of some type. Mine is not to bad.

are you talking about the seal on the top of the W/S where the top sits?

I just used 4 speakers but I did see some info about using a sub and amps.

Alex, My 90 has the ride select and the shocks were gone when I bought the car. The connectors are still there. I haven't had a computer problem yet. What are the symptoms?

that film was applied to some GM cars in the 90's to keep your head from going through the W/S in a wreck. I didn't know it was used on Vettes. To my knowledge nothing takes it off. I called the office (I work for a Auto Glass company) and they said it's easier to replace it.

Speakers: 84-89, 6.5 round fit the door,use a "notch" filter set at 160 Hz. 6.5 round will work in the rear enclosure.Metra makes a nice install kit. I think the antenna is in the head unit on your year, so you souldn't need an extention. its different that my 90.

I just did this a few weeks ago. I was able to use the Bose enclosures, front and back. Rewire the speakers, buy the bypass wiring harness for the control box,and follow the directions for the resisters to keep the Sys light from coming on.it only took a few hours to complete.

you might have tried this ,activate the window while checking the track , make sure that the track itself isn't moving, check the spring.

Pull the door panel and check the travel. If your still having problems monday I will ask one of my techs. I work for a glass company.
