the title makes it kind of hard to do eh :) those 7/16 studs will wobble like crazy in a 1/2"+ sized hole :D

    Anyone Seen These Side Pipes!?

That's what I'm using, 4" equiv. stainless oval tubing & mufflers: The tubing is expensive as hell though. I will remove the bulge from the floorboard (where older models used to have the seat belt retrator) because it's in the way, then open a hole in the frame and weld it all up so it's...

    Valve chatter on an 82

If it was a mechanical problem with the valve train it'd be there regardless if the engine was under load or not and you'd notice it as a constant sound that is doing it at half the crank speed. A noisy tappet or loose rocker is a very distinkt clack clack sound and it's frequency changes w/...

    Valve chatter on an 82

it's winALDL ALDL = Assembly Line Data Link ..the connector behind the ashtray. http://winaldl.joby.se/ The system only eliminates knock. If it's on one side it's most likely a mech. problem. What do you mean w/ collapsed rod? Did you replace rod bearings??? The oil won't be the problem...

    Valve chatter on an 82

that's supposed to be ESC, typo! This is the ESC: It's bolted to the back of the ECM bracket, on the wall behind the seat. Next to the battery you see the ECM, between that and the metal wall you'll find the ESC 9electronic spark control). It's the spark controller/interpreter. It's sort of...

    Tire Choice

Those pirellis are available over there as they are indeed originally for the countach and pantera crowd. They are by far the best tires available in 15". Indeed I'm talking about grip and handling, the tires are the most important and the BFGs are marginal at best and most others are even worse.

    Valve chatter on an 82

check if your knock retard system is working, do you have a scanner? If not, download win ALDL and build the simple interface connector, then when engine is running and the scanner on, tap the block w/ a hammer (don't whack, just tap) and watch if the knock counts go up, if not the system is at...

    Tire Choice

The BFs are junk IMO, about the only quality tire in the wider ranges for 15" is the Pirelli scorpion zero and it looks awful since it's a SUV tire. The P zero asimmetrico is available in 345/35 ZR15TL 95Y

Priming and Powder Coating Yes or No?

galvanizing (named after Galvano is the application of a layer of zinc by dipping in a hot bath, the other processes are electroplating and the other one that I mean is what's probably called flame zinc spraying. The hot dipping introduces problems like cracking of the frame, any weld that isn't...

Priming and Powder Coating Yes or No?

Or have the frame zinc/flame sprayed (what is that process called in english?) and then have the pwodercoaters phoshate wash it (otherwise the powdercoat won't stick properly to the zinc plated surface) and then powdercoat it. it'll never rust again. However, if powdercoated properly the powder...

    Anyone Seen These Side Pipes!?

That's the photoshop special :D That entire pic is a shop of a model car, everything in it is "doctored" I will however do my exhaust like that, and it probably requires a hole in the frame there. I have oval mufflers that sit under the floorboards

    Powder-coating of engine block

RAL codes are paint codes, it's sort of an industry standard (at least it is here) A lot of photo editing programs also use the RAL/Pantone/FS charts. All blues are in the 5000 range You can get a color swatch w/ all the blues (or even all the colors) and pick a sample of whsat you want, then...

    Powder-coating of engine block

Does that chevy blue have a RAL color? you can get powdercaot in just about any color you can imagine, don't buy your powder from eastwood..very expensive. Buy directly from a powdercoating company.

    Tires and wheels...

15 and 16 inch don't have a very good selection of tires, especially high speed rated ones. With 17" there's a problem of the manufacturers going to smaller ratios as the widyth goes up, meaning it's not uncommon to run a 255 tire on the front that's larger in diameter than for instance a 295 or...

    Powder-coating of engine block

It can be done, a guy here in NL does it but it's very expensive and for a reason. they mask off everything that must not be coated and stuffing plugs into every hole...this makes it very labour intensive. Also the casting has ti be slowly heated and remain at a temp above curing temp for a...
