Hi! Gary
American Le Mans New England Grand Prix
June 30-July 1, 2006
Information is on their web pag. I think it would be neat to see the new Corvettes in action.

Hi! Bill
I think the date will work fine. I believe that most people would like to see the date with in thirty days of the engine assembly date, but the NCRS will allow you a six month window. If my calculations were correct you are with in a three month + or- time range.
Good luck
Ray
I just sent an email to the Limerock Speed Way in refference to the possibility of a Corvette get together at their LeMans Series Race in late June-early July. Would this be somthing that CAC members might be interested in?

Hi!
I am an owner of early Corvettes and...
Hi!
I am sorry I haven't gotten back to you in reference to purchasing lacquers. I am posting a URL for PPG, click on distributor and you should be able to find a distributor near you. Call and find out if they can still sell lacquer in your state...
Hi! Gary
I use a Devilbis HVLP spray gun for all heavy body materials and a conventional gun for the lacquer. I reduced the K-36 by the maximum recommended 20% and applied one extra coat to make up the build difference. The only problem I had was I mixed too large a quantity the first time and...
Hi! First Gear
A friend that teaches Auto Body Repair also recommended K-38, he said that it sanded easier. When I called and ordered my primers from the PPG paint distributor they talk me out of using using the K-38. One of my concerns was repairs and scratches telegraphing through the paint...
Hi! Barry
I did quite a bit of research and decided not to use the Gell-Kote. My painting experience has only been a few cars and I would like to have a little more knowledge on the use of gell-coat prior to my first attempt.
I plan on using all PPG products. I will seal the body using a...
Hi! Gary
I was thinking of you over the Christmas holiday. Spent a few days with my son & daughter in law in Danbury Conn. area and I know you live in the Eastern part of NYS. I even got a chance to stop in Beacon NY and see where my 61 was originally sold. The dealership has changed hands...
Another quick up-date
While most people were welcoming in the New Year and drinking the beverage of choice, I was busy in the shop. The 1963 SWC body work is complete!!; body gaps, lines and panel joints are even and smooth. I need to fine sand one more time using 220-grit and then the primer...
Hi!
On the stamp pad on the right front surface of the block you should see the Vin number and the engine identification stamp. It should be F (Flint) 01 (month) 11 (day) and the suffix in my case a 270HP CU.
Hope this helps
Ray
Hi! nrangerZR-1
Most of the 53's that I have seen for sale have brought $75,000 and up depending on condition. Would you happen to know the serial number of the car, if it is an unknown 53 that has a provenance it could bring big, big bucks.

Hi!
I received two hard cover Corvette books and a gift card to Borders Book Store for another Corvette Book.
Is there any recommendations of what Corvette book I should buy?
Ray
I would remove the boot first, and then remove the linkage and three short bolts that secure the shifter to the transmission. You then should be able to remove it from the bottom. Sorry that I did not have a picture from the left side.I would take a couple of photos prior to disassembly.
