Hi! Tom
Sunday was buyer’s day and Saturday was seller’s day. Sunday’s prices seemed to be down in comparison to the other auction days, money spent and bidders gone home. I would bet that there were a lot of disappointed sellers on Sunday.
I too liked the 63 fuelie and thought it was one of...
From the 61 JG: the lug wrench is about 1" shorter that the floor recessed slot. It generally has a raised letter "O" (manufactures ID) at the socket end, and has a pronounced tang bend (for hubcap removal) at the narrow end.
If you need a picture let me know and I will take one of my 61 lug...
Hi! Collin
Have you had a chance to determine why the large difference in price of the L76 option 1963? The only option listed for lot 383 was the leather saddle interior.

Hi! Gary
All I can say is WOW! what a shocker. I was looking forward to a cruise of the 61's this coming year and now we will have to wait until you complete your next project. I hope everything went fine with your decision to sell your 61 and I know what colleges cost. I had two attend...
Hi! Brian
Here is a picture with the slot that fits behind the bearing shaft. On one end I used just a washer, the hole in the center fit over the shaft and the washer protected the shaft. On the other I used a bolt with nut and washer as a pressure point.

Hi! Doug
I believe that most supply houses get them from the same maker. I purchased a set on Ebay for my 65 and when I contacted the person listing the gears, he said that his machine shop supplied most of the part houses. I also purchased the shim washers from the same vendor.
Another...
Hi! Barry
Something to put in your memory bank for the next time you fire up the engine after major repairs, especially fuel related is to have a good fire extinguishers handy.
It sounds like every thing is fine and you just have a few minor details to take care of. Good job and you just...
Hi! Brian
I will most likely wait until Saturday and that will make it six days. I have keep the heat on in the barn to help force the solvents from the lacquer. A paint instructor that I know told me that when the paint looses it banana type smell (order) it is time to wet sand and buff. What...
Wow! I thought that I could tear up an old Corvette, but your project looks like a complete dismantling. Keep the pictures and information coming this should be a very interesting project.

Hi! Barry
Thanks for the compliments! I am very please at this time. I used a Devilbis HVLP gun with the lacquer for the first time and there was a short learning curve. I tried a Sharpe HVLP gun but got a run on the first panel and switch back to the Devilbis. Other than the one run...
Hi! Brian
Still have tons of work to do so if you do get that "I would like to start a restoration feeling" you are welcome to come and help. Wet sanding and buffing will start in a few day and I am a little nervous about installing the windows and clips for the stainless. This is my first...
Hi! Firstgear
It is a shame that we don't live closer, I put a body dolly out behind the barn that you would have been welcome to use.
Good luck on you body lift!

I purchased a set of aluminum coated exhaust from Allen's for my 63 project. The exhaust are 2 1/2" and are welded like the originals. On the mufflers in stencil are the words off road . I have been going to call Allen's to to get information on the difference between what I received and...
