I love the first style Callaway Dymags but would buy C-5 magnesium rims before I would pay big bucks for 2nd design Dymags unless I had a ZR-1 racer to restore. JMHO :)
The Callaways automatics that I looked at so far were original automatics with Dana 36. This surprised me knowing the torque numbers for these cars! I haven't heard of any problems but not many Callaways are drag raced on a regular basis!!
Billy: Great job with the car. The details are looking good. Always something more to do on these as they get older. That color was one of the 2 colors I hunted for when I was shopping. Would be interested to hear what you do with micro-fueler and your modified engine. I know that there is a lot...
These were a slow sell when new. I remember many bad comments when first prototypes showed at Bloomington! Has appeal to those who want low production!! Kinda of like having a 3-speed drum brake 65 Vette.;)
:confused Always more to learn. I guess I don't know the answer. Know that car was a late build 89 {July}and was converted Sept 89. Probably time for info from NCM!! Also probably will wait a little longer before getting C-4 NCRS book.
Being a direct conversion car I guess that NCRS and I will not be meeting! Doesn't matter to me as I think Callaways are modern day Yenko's and I don't hear anybody complaining about owning them!! :upthumbs
I agree that leaving a car with Hennessey would trip my high risk alarm! Unique Performance bankruptcy auction is a good reminder of this!!;squint: As far as LPE breaking I've read these test long enough to know that even the big three and other manufacturers have had breakage at these test...
Steve: Great to hear from you was wondering awhile back if you still had the Callaway CR-1! :) The people with these cars seem to be hanging onto them. I started to make a list of known ones but then got busy and forgot about it. Take care Ike
:upthumbs Congratulations Reeves!! I think this is great even if I feel it was a little overdue! Definately a fitting tribute for someone who helped maintain the Corvette heritage on the track and on the street!! :beer
