Me I have the matching # engine but needed more power so I went with the ZZ4. so far it's all I need but I'm sure I'll need mre power later on.

I have the orignal Q-jet but have a crate demon on the shelf, I guess the crate demon was rejetted for the ZZ4. I might have to experiment. I had my Q-jet rebuilt by Lars.
if you look at the tach board real close you might be able to see where it is bad and just replace the bad part, radio shack or digikey. if all else fails i think that there is a person here that can repair it for you cheaper than getting a new one.
alignment- no
jack or ramps- I would use the jack stands, because you are going to have air in the system until it self bleeds and it will be easier on the wheels when you have to move the steering left and right. That's just me though.
I've been looking for a 99 hard top, the coupes seem to be going for that.
You might be right about the wait but then how many people do you think will be spending 60K for a vette? not me not any time soon.
