haha o alright I got ya, cool. Yah I still have the stock manifolds :( lol, Im planning on getting some Hooker Super Competition ceramic coated. Did you put yours in yourself? If so how hard was it to get thos big manifolds outta there?
we have the same set up right? Dual with glasspacks and no cats? Why did you say 12 months high RPM driving? Does that break in the glasspacks or something.
AWESOME! I love the difference, much faster from a stop and rolling. I havent noticed a significant drop in gas mileage either. I did notice that it gets into 3rd realllllly quick now, so Im definitely staying away from the highway. Thanks for the advice, definitely a good choice...
yah it was a flex agent I forget what. The guy that did it was trained by Dupont. He just painted his 1981, and he repaired his nose the same way and his had no problem. We cant figure out what the hell is going on.
I got my car back from the paint shop late March. It has all the original body parts, and the nose was pretty cracked up. We filled the nose properly and did the rest of the body work. We painted it with 2 base coats (OEM Midnight black) and 3 Clear Coats. Everything was fine, then about a...

sounds like a good idea, ill check that out. Hey I was thinking about doing headers seeing I still have my mammoth exhaust manifolds on there. Are they hard to change out? Did you do yours yourself? Im just wondering because space is so confined in our years. I do have access to lifts at...
Alright I ordered the 3.70 rearend today, along with new yokes, mounting bushings, gasket etc....Ill let you guys know how I like it once I get it in. Thanks again for the input.

I made a mistake with my exhaust that im going to correct eventually. I wanted to something unique compared to all the flowmaster out there so I did glasspacks. I cut the end of the Y-pipe making it a true dual, ran 2 1/4 pipes back with no cats, and then the glasspacks. It sounds very mean...
Im trying to keep up with you guys here lol. Alright, so you put it in 3 instead of D around town so OD doesnt kill your acceleration? But wouldnt OD not even be on while driving around town?
When does OD kick in?
I think I might understand this all better if I knew how OD worked.
I didnt realize how cheap these transmissions are compared to what I expected. They range from $895-$1,325. I cant decide between a Level 1 or 2 yet, because Im not quite sure how crazy Im going to go with the motor. I think Im going to go ahead and put the 3.73s in for now. Then sometime...
I was thinking about that...so the 700r4's 1st gear is just like having a 3.73 rear? So what would happen if you had a 3.73 rear w/ a 700r4, too much? I had been leaning towards a 200-4R because its supposed to be a better swap for the TH350. Thats got a less agressive 1st so 3.73s would be...
I was leaning more towards the 200-4R because it is said to be the best replacement for the TH350. The 200-4R has a less aggressive 1st right? So would 3.73s be alright with that?
Where on my 1980 L82 would I find the numbers to tell if its #'s matching? Also, I was planning on buying a rebuilt rearend from ecklers, so I would have to send my OE differential in as a core. Do people look for an OE differential when looking for a #'s matching car?
Thanks,
