You don't need brains to be a Boss.
When the body was first created, all the parts wanted to be Boss. The brain said, "I should be Boss because I control all of the body's responses and functions."
The feet said, "We should be Boss since we carry the brain about and get him to where he wants...
GM Recalling 1.4M Cars; Oil Leaks Can Cause Engine Fires

For the third time in seven years, General Motors is recalling cars that can leak oil and catch fire, in some instances damaging garages and homes.
The recall, which...
Yes it was and it was a good time to be alive with a driver's license, The air was filled with a smell from what the EPA would call unburnt hydrocarbons from something called cam overlap while radio antennas shook with power, not a miss. LOL
Once, I helped stuff a 3x2 348 into a a late 1940s...
I honestly don't know if it is a problem for N/A or boosted engines; however, I'd prefer sending the oil vapors into a can rather than into the intake manifold. Not all the oil vapor makes it to the combustion chamber; some stays as deposits in the intake manifold.
As I am boosted; I plan on...
Not exactly correct. It is called the Ackermann Effect. A man named Georg Lankensperger, a wooden wheel maker, figured out how to beat it in the early 1800s.
Vette's thumping rubs some drivers the wrong way
Tire size and rubber compound has nothing to do with it as it is a trick with angles...
No one is freaking out; sorry if you took it that way. My profession is automotive design engineering. It is fascinating how they came up with a method to standardize power no matter where the dyno is located.
There is quite a difference between the conditions in an East coast city during the...
The correction factor standardizes the power no matter where the dyno is located in the US. It is a standard method to compare apples to apples. ;)
Corrected Power
Short form, by applying the correction factor, a dyno would show the same RWHP at sea level or in Colorado.
The 396-425 was a 1 year engine for Corvette and also 1 year at 425HP for the 396.

Tuna, quite true as no matter what the vehicle there is nothing quite like new shoes. Mine had a little under 10K on them when I bought the car. Enough wear to verify there wasn't any suspension issues and new enough I didn't need to replace them on the basis of date code issues. Initially, I...
Glad to help.
The date code on the two oldest was 09 14 which is good. The salesmen know the date code. Also be sure the installer uses a Hunter Road Force balance machine; the machine puts 700 pounds of force on the tire. Best balance I've ever experienced.
I bought a set of Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 close outs from Tirerack for $446 delivered. Not many miles on them, but they are one heck of an improvement over the Goodyear run flats.
The car handles better, we can actually share a conversation, and they hook up in 3rd where the GYs smoked. We...
A friend is restoring a 1969 Olds Cutlass convertible and shared this one today; it works and the shopping bag is from Walmart. Bubba is alive and well.
I purchased 4 Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 (Y rated UTQG 280 AA A) on close out for $446 delivered with a road hazard warranty. The front and rear tires date codes are 2014. $84 for installation and a Hunter Road Force balance.
They are not run flats which means they are quiet. As the mold...
{A woman in Santa Fe, New Mexico, had just left her home early Thursday morning when her car suddenly stalled. A good Samaritan pulled over to help, but when he opened the hood of the car he didn’t find a dead battery. Instead, he found a very much living 9-foot, 20-pound python.
After car...
