Yes. This seems to be a common problem. I tried a lot of things and finally removed it with goofoff and lacquer thinner. Used mostly the goofoff on a small rag and kept working at it till most of it finally came off. Then I finished it very carefully with a small amount of lacquer thinner (be...
When letting off the accelerator, a pulsing (not jerking) of the car occurs. It happens once the engine is at a steady RPM usually when going down a slight incline. At first I though it was unevenness in the road or street but don't think it is such. The tachometer also bobs when this is...
Beware and do your research. I bought a 98 with same problem and naively thought it would be a simple fix. Short story - abs pump, module, and wiring plug had to be replaced at a cost of
$1,600 with used parts. The car only had 16,000 miles on it and was in pristine condition otherwise. Get...
My 98 C5 has just started a slight engine surge when idling and when slowing down approaching stop lights, etc, A very slight increase followed by decrease in rpm. Engine runs fine otherwise. Does this sound like a throttle position sensor problem? Any advise appreciated. Thanks.
Does anyone know of a good video on how to replace the sending on this C-5? I have found some decent written instructions but would like to see a good video as well. Looks like something I am capable of doing myself. Thanks.
Thanks for the information guys. From my information the sending unit is in the passenger side tank. I finally found a new AC/Delco sending unit for $75 at Rock Auto.com, The car has sat much of its life with only 16,000 miles (1998)l causing the sending unit to act up. Because of the low...
I have looked on both but can't find any less than $300. There are several listed on the site for much less but does not signify what models they work on. Any more specific info is appreciated. Thanks.
horn/air bag sticky material
I used Goof Off with a rag and kept wiping (scrubbing) on it till it came off avoiding getting it on the steering wheel while doing so. Also reluctantly used a little lacquer thinner on the stubborn spots. It took a while, but it came out looking very good...
Thanks for the information.
I did the procedure on the Garage Guide link. It was very easy and cost $1.35 for the nylon washers. The main difference in their advice as opposed to some others was not having to take the seat apart. Recommend this site highly if anyone else encounters this problem.
Thanks. Exactly what does the kit consist of and can some other kind of shims be employed or fabricated to tighten the existing blocks up? The car only has 17,000 miles. This must have been a problem from its beginning. Appreciate the info.
Does anyone know of an easy fix for this? Have removed one seat to replace lumbar support bags and see where the problem is located. It appears the entire track assembly has to be taken apart to repair.
Yes, the service ride control light is on. When I first got the cart, the shocks inoperable light came on but went away when the ride control module was replaced making the shocks operable again. Shocks definitely work but I can detect no difference when moving the control knob. Am wondering...
When I bought my C-5 the shocks were inoperable. We replaced the ride control module which did activate the shocks and improved the ride immensely. However, the selective ride knob on the console seems to make no change in the ride. The ABS pump module had shorted out on the car with a...
Thanks for the info from everyone. Contacted Dr. Don who knew the exact problem and had a solution. However, was going to cost about $300 for a unit I would probably never use. Decided to remove it, box it up for history, and just play one CD at a time on the dash.
1998 Corvette I just bought has a Pioneer cd changer in the trunk. Age, etc. have made in inoperable, and it is no longer available. The dash unit is a Delco brand. Both are factory installed to the best of my knowledge. Does anyone know of a source who repairs changers such as this at a...
