    Tires for 66

I posted a question about this a while back and got a bunch of answers that might be useful - here's the thread: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30132 Also, when you narrow down the list of sizes you're considering, try this tire size calculator for...

    Side Exhaust Installation for a 65' (327)

LOL...The previous poster is not entirely off the mark. Sidepipes are not for everyone and the experience can be good or bad depending on how you use the car. For example, the noise can be grating on very long drives and if you frequently use your Vette for long trips you may find yourself...

What were the stock headlamps for C2?

You may already know this but the T3's aren't very bright at all and I wouldn't recommend using them for regular driving. Keep a set of halogens in there for driving and then pop the T3's when it's time for NCRS judging. Andy

Build Sheet for 1965 - where is it?

Pre-1967 build sheets are the Holy Grail of the Corvette world. But like the Holy Grail, they are totally unattainable. IH2LOSE is correct - build sheets were only affixed to the car starting in '67. Some people believe that the factory had copies of all the pre-'67 build sheets but nothing...

Which Delco Battery for 1965 327/300HP?

:-) I've only done it once but that was enough! Check www.acdelco.com to find a dealer in your area. Good luck! Andy

Which Delco Battery for 1965 327/300HP?

$93??!! Cancel your order and shop around! I just replaced the battery in my '65 327/300. I bought a Delco 24-5YR and paid about $65 from a local parts store that's an authorized Delco dealer. WRT the procedure, it is doable by one person but you'll be better off with some help. Here's the...

    Unusual '67 L-88 photo request

You can find a picture in M.F. Dobbins' "Vette Vues Fact Book of the '63-'67 Stingray", page 274. There's also one in Mike Antonick's "Illustrated Corvette Buyer's Guide", page 86 (this is the third edition). It looks like the same picture. Andy

    Need help from the pros

A couple of points. First, since you are in Michigan you are closer to the Bloomington Gold show (in Illinois) than Carlisle (PA), but Bloomington is in June so you already missed it. Carlisle is at the end of August. Second, Carlisle (and Bloomington, for that matter) can be a blessing or a...

    Need help from the pros

The book you want is "An Investment in Excitement: Buying a 1963-1967 Stingray", by Rick Miller. Unfortunately it is out of print and therefore expensive ($75 and up) but it is really the only book out there on how to buy a midyear Corvette. There is one for sale on Amazon for $75 (new) and...

    '67 L-88 sells for $615K at Bloomington

The neat thing about the Ferraris is that they race them all the time and the value doesn't go down! You can see two or three GTOs at the Monterey Historics pretty much every year - and they are not the only cars there in the $500k+ price range. Andy

C2, did it have a trunk?

Doh! Yeah, I forgot, it was only offered on convertibles. :) Having never owned a coupe I kinda forget about them! Andy

    '63/c2 Tire/wheel Inquiry

FWIW my '65 rides at 25 3/4" front and rear, measured at the middle of the wheel well from the bottom of the fender to the ground. That's with correct springs front and back and 205/75 tires, which might be a bit tall. Hope this helps. Andy

    '63/c2 Tire/wheel Inquiry

I think the ride height is supposed to be the same at both ends. Sounds like you've got a spring problem. If your rear spring hasn't been replaced in a long time it could have flattened out. Check the front springs too though - they could be too tall. Andy

C2, did it have a trunk?

Don't know if this is true but...what I heard was that when Chevy was designing the '63 Corvette, Zora only had enough money in the budget to engineer either an independent rear suspesion or a trunk, but not both. Given their desire to race the car, the choice was obvious. A luggage rack was...

Midyears: What tires are you using?

I'll be replacing the tires on my '65 in the near future and was curious about what other Midyear owners are using. My car is a driver so I'm only interested in radials. Here are my questions: 1. What size, brand and model are your tires? 2. Do you like them? Why or why not? 3. Would you...

    64 Roadster Value

Easy there, tigers! I wasn't saying there is anything wrong with the '64s! All I was saying was that IF it is a basic, no-option '64 with a non-matching, non-hi-performance 327 and automatic transmission, it is going to be tougher to sell than something that's more unusual (FOR EXAMPLE, a...

    64 Roadster Value

Well, based on that additional info it sounds like a pretty good deal, especially if it's originally a California car (the don't rust out here). However, given that you can't go see it yourself and apparently there's nothing special about it, I'm not sure I would go for it either unless I...

    Convertible rear window care

Great comments about cleaning. Here's another idea. Before the top goes all the way down I put a towel in between the folds of the window so it doesn't get scratched. It requires something long like an old bath towel and it helps if you have an assistant stretch it across. Andy
