Look at the front cross member. If there is a big dimple in the middle of it, then chances are it started life as a big block. This is one of the hardest places to fake.
You got a very dead battery. Hook up jumpers and let it charge on the other vehicle a few min, then try starting it. You should get the battery tested either way if you get her going or not.
Interesting... another person with a shipment from Summit that got banged up in transit... they don't pack their stuff very well. I just lost an intake manifold to their lack of product concern. Did you document the problem with Summit before you had them milled?
Hope you get to the bottom...
No one would remove a cam like that from a car before selling it... it's a total pain. This guy is giving it to you from behind... although there is really nothing you can do about it. I would start saving for a crate motor and be done with it.
Two words:
Crate Motor
Cam and heads with your current set up still won't get you anywhere close to 100HP more. You would need to bore and stroke (add displacement), as well as compression.
If you really want 100HP more, you should think of a new powerplant. Get a crate motor, or find...
Should I use the gaskets in the front and rear or Silicone? I'm installing an aluminum intake on a cast iron block. Parts will arrive on Friday!!!!!
Your thoughts???
Thanks,
Dave
Got going on my Spring project today. I pulled the carb, disty and stock intake manifold of the Big Block today! That stock thing must weigh 60#!!!
I put the cruddy aluminum Performer RPM 2.0 manifold I have over the valley and mocked up the carb and go pedal linkage... everything seems to...
I am looking for Edelbrock P/N 71614; It's a Performer RPM 2.0 Dual Plane intake for BB Chevy.
I cannot seem to find this part for sale anywhere, nor can I find any of the "Endurashine" products from Edelbrock. Does anyone have any insight into this elusive product?
Thanks!
Dave
RE: Big Dale E
I never saw Dale Sr. do what Tony Stewart did, which is why I respect the man. Dale did drive hard and push people out of the way for position... what he did not do (that I am aware of) is move over 3 lanes of traffic to intentionally run someone off the track, possibly killing...
Do you think Tony Stewart is driving out of control? This is defind as taking rageful and dangerous action agains another driver for bumping and banging him (rubbinng is racing) in the normal course of the race.
HorseSheit.
He is going to kill someone. The others race hard and bump and bank. He is out of control. Let's take a poll shall we? I am starting one now.
