This may be something you've already done... but make sure those new plug wires are routed correctly. If they are touching anything like a ground source, you will arc and break up at higher RPM.
Jeff,
The adjustment can only be reached from the top. You have to pop your hood and look infront of the hood as it is up... down in between the headlamp and the hood.
I can walk you through it if you want... PM me your phone #.
Dave
Jeff,
Try this:
-Pop your hood.
-Push up the headlight assembly.
-Look down and in between the hood and the fiberglass between the hood and assembly...towards the corner of the fender.
-You should see something that looks like the attached photo.
That's the stop adjustment... it controls...
Jeff,
It's not part of the assembly... its a tab bolt sticking out behind the mechanism. You should be able to see it if you hold the unit half way open. It should have a black plastic pad on it, but that could also be long gone. There's a nut on the back side you will need to loosen...
My 74 BB came with the above as well... and I also switched to VBP 7/8" with Poly bushings.
If you have the opportunity, upgrade front and back... what a difference!!!
No matter what I do the brake line coming out of the front reservoir of my new master continues to seep fluid ever so slightly. I kept tightening it little by little, but It won't budge any further. Not sure what to do at this point... any ideas?
Thanks,
Dave
Well,
I got the shipment today... everything seems to fit well. They sent a 4th booster and a 2nd master. I got my calipers on tonight, as well as tightened up my fan belt (PITA on a BB car, there are three mounting bolts), re-installed the alternator,
Tomorrow I will bench bleed...
You know the two studs that come out of your booster that you bolt the master to? Yeah, well some tardo doesn't know how to weld those studs in straight, so every booster I got had the studs angled in towards each other. I could not get the master over the studs without destroying the threads...
