The Corvette Challenge: What would you change?

Simple: A Corvette with the build quality and reliability of my 25K stamped out mass produced daily driver AND a customer centric dealer network with Corvette qualified technicians that provide world class service.

    Question: TB bypass

You are not plugging it. There is a hose going into the throttle body, and a hose coming out from the throttle body. You are connecting those hoses together, and bypassing the throttle body. The theory is that the TB is no longer getting heated up by the engine coolant, and will allow cooler...

GM’s Akerson: We’re Launching 'Top Secret, Revamped' Corvette

I don't care what it looks like or how revamped it is or not. I just hope that 6 months after it hits the streets the Corvette forums are not filled with stories about failures, quality control problems and the typical GM dealer apathy towards customer complaints.

Looks like the ZR1 may have some formidable competition now

I bet weighs close to 2 tons... But still, for just a little more than 2LT C6 coupe that's some real bang for the buck.

GM's V8 Production Down by Half - Should Next Gen Corvette Adopt a V6 to Keep Up with the Times?

No for the V6. I would rather see a standard 2 valve per cylinder cam in block V8. Corvettes always represented a value advantage over competitors, having a more complex and most likely more expensive engine would erode that margin. A larger displacement V6 with a big turbo...

    Had a C5 for a year now…My Impressions

Just wait until the mod bug really bites....... One of the best platforms to "personalize" ...must be something about the Torch red C5s....

GM Press Release: 505 Horsepower – Some Assembly Required

That is a really cool experience, a mini vacation and a crate engine you helped build. Though it seems a tad pricey. I think for almost 23 grand a local engine builder would let me help build a 700hp blower motor.... Yeah, i know that's not exactly the point......

    Help! 99 corvette won't start

No, never had a problem with the TB. It does have an electric component in it to actually open and close the throttle blade. I would imagine the check engine light would be on and the code would be set.

    Help! 99 corvette won't start

I am thinking / hoping its something as simple as a bad grounding point under the hood. I dont think a fuel issue would cause a traction control error message. Lets see how it turns out...

What year corvette do you enjoy the most?

I think the mid years Corvettes are some of the most cleanly styled, iconic and just plain coolest looking cars ever created. The late model C4s have some of the most "looks like is going fast when standing still styling" and the C5s and C6s are the best drivers.

GM Press Release: GM Builds 100-Millionth Small-Block Engine

A ZR-1 with the 1 millionth small block. Now that's an EPIC collectible.

    Help! Uh oh!!

I would check for any visible damage or frayed wires, move around the connectors and make sure the pins in the connector are not loose or broken, possibly shorting. I don't know the lights go back in a specific order or not, I don't think it would cause a problem if you put them in the wrong...

Smooth air "coupler" installed today and a question

Its all a learning experience. I remember when the air foils were included in the box for free when you bought a K&N Air filter. Anything in the air intake area of a C4, 5 & 6 Corvette is fair game now for a heavy Corvette tax and equally heavy claimed improvements. I dont worry how other...

    LS6 springs, cam and heads

You just need to check the pushrod length. The PAC 1218s are for a maximum lift of .600, if you are using a stock LS6 cam from any year LS6 you dont need the after market springs, the stock springs will be fine. The 1218s or 918s wont hurt, but the specs of the stock cam dont require it. Just...
