I just replaced the alternator and battery. I don't think I put 20 miles on the car since then. Just went into the garage to back it out for a wash attempted to start it. I heard a loud click then nothing. Now when I turn the key to start nothing happens not even a click. Battery checks OK...
On three separate occasions my battery went completely dead. The first time I noticed, was that the driver’s door was not completely closed. The door was ajar about a quarter inch. The interior lights had gone out so I didn’t think anything of it. The second time I shut the car off before the...
I need to change plugs and saw an ad for Pulstar Pulse Plugs. The ad looked impressive but I wonder if it's just hype. Does anyone have experience with them?
I turned on my headlights and the left one didn't come up. I turned the grey knob and the headlight moved but it reverted to the closed position. Does this eliminate the relay? I disconnected the power and turned the grey knob until the lamp rotated to the full open position. Any ideas?
Last week I rolled the car out of the driveway and after about 200 feet the rear left tire went flat immediately. I limped the car back home and noticed the tire was off the wheel. I brought the tire to a local tire shop and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'm thinking this is crazy...
Do the two black fasterners that hold the air cleaner duct just screw out? Mine seem to be frozen in place. I didn't want to use pliers if there is another way they are removed.
Thanks,
Guy
I need to replace both mufflers as well as the Y pipe on my '87. Don't know which brand to go with. I'm looking for something with low resonance. Any advice on this, as well as where to purchase would be appreciated.
When I bought my 87 a year ago the effort to apply the brakes seemed high. I bought the car anyway. I don't need two feet to stop the car but I certainly can't stop it with average preassure like my Toyota or BMW. I thought the pads were glazed so I took them all out and sanded them. I washed...
I'm going to change the pads and the brake fluid on my 87. My question is, can I spray the bleeder valves with WD40 to help with loosining them up? I don't want to contaminate the new fluid.
Thanks.
I have an 87 Vette with 43500 miles on it. I've had it 1 year. When I bought it I had it inspected and it passed with flying colors. Now a year later I go to have it inspected again at the same shop. I've only put about 500 miles on it in a year. I'm thinking this is going to be a no brainer...
I have an 87 Vette with 44,500 miles on it. When the engine is cold it will start immediately. I don't think it cranks for more that a couple of seconds before it fires up. If I start it when the engine is warm it may take 15 or 20 seconds to start. This isn't a big problen I'm just curious as...
The insurance premium on my 87 Vette ie $1600. The classic insurance is $300. Heres the problem. To get classic insurance you have to have a car for every driver in the house excluding the classsic. My wife and I only have one car between us excluding the Vette. Does anyone know of an insurance...
I'm thinking of spraying GUNK degreaser on my 87 Vette and then hosing it off. The engine has no oil or grease on it, I just wanted to brighten it up. I have been hearing that you never wash a vette engine. What's the truth?
Thanks.
The lights went out on the dash of my 87 Vette. I was still able to see the readings. I tapped the dash and the lights came back on. This happened 3 times so far. Loose connection? Bad bulbs?
I bought a 1987 Vette last week and I want to change the coolant. The shop manual says open the block drain plugs. Where are they located and what do they look like? Thanks.
