That's a good idea. I told the spicer dealer that I would bring in one of my old ones to be sure the new one would fit. They have assured me that they can get what I need. We'll see.
Thanks for the input.
Tom
Thanks, that's great information. I got the 5-799x number of this forum, but when I went to the Spicer dealer here, they told me that is was not what their book called for in my application. They did not show the half shaft number at all, and I don't have the number for the drive shaft in...
No, no problems with going into reverse. From what I've heard, it is a little stiffer than the Hurst, but I go to reverse as easily as the forward gears.
My original opti was working when I replaced the waterpump at 86,000 miles. I replaced the opti with an AC that I found on ebay for $215. That was 11,000 miles ago, and I expect it to go for years. The MSD is no doubt an excellant unit, but I don't think its worth more than twice the price of...
You might try heating up the intake rubber with a hair dryer, and stretch it over the mouth of the TB. I have a BBK 52 mm, and it fits with just a bit of a stretching.
I bought mine from the local Chevy dearlership. It had double sided tape and the nuts both. Five minute job. Maybe you should check with the dealership first.
My Helms for my 95 says to not put any sealant on the sensor threads, as this will affect the sensors ability to pick up knocks. It further states that the sensors are coated at the factory. If you are re-installing the old sensors and the coating has been dsturbed, you might be able to use a...
I have purchased a set of used lt4 heads, and would like to have them ported before I put them on the engine. Can anyone recommend a good place to have this done? Thanks, Tom
After I put 1.6 full roller rockers on my 95, I changed the knock module to the Lt4 one. No difference. I changed back to the original one to check, and still could detect no difference between the two. Quarter mile times did not change.
When I bought my 95, it had already had the resonator removed. The resonance inside the car was pretty annoying, especially at highway speeds (68 to 80 mph). I finally had an X-pipe installed, after the muffler shop told me it would improve power and help on the resonance. After it was...
The tach on my 95 6speed has started to read only up to about 2500 rpm's. Then it begins to hover at the same spot as the car continues to accelerate. Can anyone tell me where to look, and what steps to take to solve the problem?
Thanks, Tom
I found my problem. Most of it was me. When I put it back together, I swapped the plug wires on 2 and 4. It took me two days to find this, as you can't see the routing. I hooked them up right, and replaced the two plugs as they were badly fouled. It still ran bad, so I kept thinking that I...
No, no coolant smell, and it looks dry everywhere I can see. The change from rough to smooth is so fast that I don't think it is fuel related, but it won't hurt to change the filter anyway. I can be driving at 25 mph, with the car bucking slightly, like it was lugging, then you can feel it...
Shannon, I ordered a codescanner last Thursday. It should be here by next Wednesday. I hope that it will tell me where the problem is. If not, you are exactly right about chasing down the problem. I have looked for vac. leaks, and am about to change the fuel filter. The odd problem is that...
