That sounds great. Hope the work goes well. I am just getting mine back from the body shop where it was repainted due to an alectrical fire caused by a coil shorting out. At this time it has to go back to mechanic to have the wiper motor and washer system installed and a few odds and ends...
That's pretty cool. As far as I can tell no one makes one and no one has seen one for 15 years. I don't know why this should be such a hassle but I sure wish I could get my hands on one. What kind of shape is your car in? Mine's very original and this would be one of the last items I would...
I'm looking for an original or high quality reproduction trunk mat for a turquois corvette. It is vin number 8026 and all of the ones I see are for vin number 4800 or less or a power roof. Any help finding the mat or a dealer who may have one would be greatly appreciated.

I have use the Z-18 clay bar on my 1960 and it has worked wonderfully. It is simple to use and relly takes the grime and crud out of the paint to set it up for a realy nice shine once you put wax onit. I would recommend all of the Zaino products.
Since I had the fire in June my car,a 1960, has been in one shop (for the mechanical) or the other shop (for paint), I have decided that along with the complete new paint, and the new or rebuilt hardware under the hood I would finally try to find the correct windshield washer system. I and my...
Thanks for all of the input guys. As ususal CAC members have a wealth of knowledge and are more then willing to share it. I will make sure that the mechanic follows your suggestions.
67heaven thanks for the sympathy. I have grabbed as many parts as I can that would be salvagable. As for cause of the fire it appears that the 45 year old coil shorted out and started the ignition wires on fire. To a great degree the fire was contained under the heat shield that covers the...
Near the end of June I started my 1960 up to take it back to work and had a bit of difficulty starting the car. Once started I heard a pop that sounded like an electrical short and the car died. I then noticed smoke coming out the exhaust and then the hood and then there were flames. Even...
How much difference if any is there is the wonderbar radios for 56-60? Mine is dead and I have seen some for sale for other years and I wonder if it is worth it to investigate these other radios or get mine fixed. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Scott
My 1960 283/245 2x4 engine has developed an annoying habit of stalling when I start it up after it has been run for a while and then allowed to cool down. Say I take it to work, which is about a 20 minute drive and then I come out 4 or 5 hours later to go to lunch and I start it up I can get to...

I own a 1960 vette with heat. My problem is that the heat is not working because the cable that attaches to the heat knob has beceom detached from whatever it is supposed to attach to in order for the heat to come on. My problem is I don't know what it is supposed to be attached to. Can...
I have an intermittent and extremely annoying problem with the brake lights on my 1960. One or the other seems to not work almost all of the time. I say almost because there are times that they both work. Right now (at least the last time I drove it before winter reappeared) the driver side...
As seems to be the case teh last couple of winters I have had my 1960 Turquois vette in the shop for various repairs and maintainence. One of the projects that was done this past winter was to have the carburators rebuilt and "brightened up". Which is akin to chroming in process but doesn't...
Thanks guys for all of the good advice. I am very hesitant to tackle this job on my own as a I am not the most mechanically inclined but this is one I think I will try. I will take it very slow and carefull as I don't want to have to repaint the car (exisiting paint is in good shape and I...
I have a 1960 Turqouise Convertible with the original paint. As one can imagine with 45 year old paint there is a fair amount of chips and scratches in it, but over all the paint is in excellent condition. I clay bar it every spring and put mulitple (6-10coats) of Zaino on it over the summer...
I haven't yet and based on the posts that I have seen regarding misleading info on e-bay I was a little hesitant to do so but maybe I will check it out. Thanks.
I am looking for a windhield washer assembly for a 1960 Corvette w/o fuel injection. I have been to a couple of swap meets and found one at one of them but the owner won't return phone calls (I was on the way out and could only stop long enough to get the phone number). Does anyone have any...
