Common problem due to build-up on the gauge floats. Try some Techron additive (available at any parts store) to dissolve the build-up. It may take a little while, but many have found this fixes the problem. Also, Chevron gas has this additive in the fuel, so will prevent it from coming back.
The top edge of the nose is held to the frame with small bolts and clips. The easy fix is to pop these in the affected area and place small washers to act as shims to align the nose with the hood. Worked great for me!
I had a similar experience when I disconnected the battery. The actuator codes were thrown and I had the different temp issue on the two sides. Once you clear the codes, you should hear your actuators cycle through their ranges. This should re-set them and your HVAC problem should be solved...
Mine started doing that a while back. Started occasionally, then became more frequent. Finally died with the window open. Turned out the window motor locked up. Some folks say that you can take the door panel off and pound on the motor to break it free. I didn't bother, just replaced the whole...
OK - here is the deal: obviously C-5's don't have jacks and spares. As prior posts have stated, coupes and FRCs have runflats. ZO6 have regular tires with "slime" kit.
I switched from RF to regular for improved ride. The reality of RFs are they will generally get you off the road in a...
Had mine re-built in 2004 by Doctor Don's in Huntsville, TX. The number I have is 936-435-1811. They did a fine job. Hopefully they are still in business.
If your radio's theft-deterrent feature is not active, you will have no problem. If it is, when you re-connect the battery it will show LOC. You will need to enter the code to unlock it (should be with your car's paperwork). If you don't have it and you get LOC, there is a do-it-yourself method...
These CD changers are notorious for "locking up". The fix is a re-build. A number of shops will do this for about $100, but you send it out to them. Mine took about a week and has been fine ever since.
Hope you don't get screwed with a bad changer on E-bay. $75 is way too cheap for a used one...
Gee, reply to my own post - oh well:eyerole.
My understanding of the need to manually re-align the actuator doors after the voltage has been removed is a "quirk" with 97-00 models. 01-04 had a "fix" incorporated to do this automatically. Looks like the original poster has a 2001. Sorry.
This happened to me when I disconnected the battery. Threw codes and ran driver's side hot, while passenger was cold. The actuator doors needed to be re-aligned. Turn the HVAC system to OFF and them enter the C5 DTC diagnostic routine, clear ALL the HVAC DTCs and the actuators will cycle through...
Only the door speakers are amped. The rear speakers are "normal" and can be accessed by pulling off the grill. Swap and test them.
PS - the large, bass door speakers are notorious for self-destructing (and also expensive to replace).
Hey - I'm democratically offended by that!:D
I agree - it is simply the law of supply and demand. Having said that - the good ones go REALLY fast down here. Those in tough shape will linger on the market.
PS - It's not the buckshot that you need to worry about in Texas. It's almost deer...
