Anybody use Dr. Color Chip yet?

I just ordered the $59 (plus $9 postage) repair kit for fixing small paint chips. Saw their ad in Corvette Enthusiast magazine. The instructions, before-and-after pics and the testamonials sold me on it. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this product. Check out their web site...

    Lift

I have had a Kwik-Lift for about 6 years and it's been a nice tool to have, but scooting around on a creeper is getting old (which is also what's happening to me). A lift is the best.

Help! Need to replace a broken wheel stud on C5

I broke a wheel stud on the right rear of my 2004 coupe. Has anyone ever replaced one of these? I have the service manual but it keeps referring me back to brakes and suspension. Does the entire suspension member (meaning disconnecting the ball joints and tie rod end) have to come off to get...

    C5 Jacking Pads

What are the best jacking pads to use? Anybody have the snap-in plastic variety? How about the hockey puck ones? I'm thinking it is probably prudent to carry a set in the car just in case something happens that would require the car be raised on a hoist or if you have the tires replaced by a...

Question: installing a 12 cd changer

I've considered installing a 12 disc changer several times in my '04 and actually downloaded all the instructions. It is a fairly involved process, especially if the factory harness isn't there. I recommend you get an ipod and play it through the radio. Keep it simple. Also, the 12 disc...

Question: C5 brake system fluid capacity

C5 Brake System Fluid Capacity Dave, how did the brake bleed go last April? I'm doing my '04 in the next couple weeks. Did you use the sequence from the service manual? I was surprised to see that sequence. I also know the big thing is to not let the master cylinder go dry.

Question: LED Tail lights on a 2004 C5

Bob, I finally got around to buying the LED flasher from Corvette Enhancements. I installed it last night (took about 45 minutes) and it definitely did the trick as far as slowing down the LED's when the directionals are on. Thanks for the tip. The $78 price (delivered) seemed high at first...

Im trading flush mount taillights or Stock ones

ScottNoxid, did you have any problems with your LED taillights? Mine flashed way faster than the stock ones, then even faster when I put on the brakes with a directional on. I got them from Zip and they referred me to the vendor, who sent me a resistor kit for each light that only slowed them...

    Help! Fuel Gauge problem

A short while ago I noticed a bottle of "GM Fuel Tank Additive" sitting on a display shelf at my local GM dealer. I asked the parts guy what it did and he said it dissolved a "sludge build-up" on the fuel gauge float. Of course when I asked the price it was like $24.95 a bottle or some...

Question: LED Tail lights on a 2004 C5

Just want to update my experience with LED tail lights for my C5. Zip Products put me in touch with the people who they buy their LED's from. The vendor provided me with a lot of info about LED tail lights. They sent me the resistor kit to slow down the directional flashing speed and it was...

Question: LED Tail lights on a 2004 C5

I just installed a set of LED tail lights on my C5 and they flash way faster than stock. To slow them down, there's a resistor kit that can be installed on the hot wire to each light. Anybody familiar with this?

    LED Tail Lights?

I finally bit the bullet and got a set from Zip Products because I had a nice free gift certificate to use up. They do look awesome, however the right side directionals flash at twice the speed of the stock tail lights and the left side flash at 3 times the speed of the stock ones. I noticed...

    LED Tail Lights?

LED Tail Lights This is an old thread, but I see where the LED tail lights are coming down in price. Does anyone have them on their C5? What should a person look for when shopping for them? Are they easy to install?

    Help with buying a 78

When looking at any Corvette remember the old adage: THE CHEAPEST CORVETTE ULTIMATELY ENDS UP BEING THE MOST EXPENSIVE CORVETTE. Been there, done that. Buy one that was restored as recently as your budget allows. Then you can do things to it that you want to do, not because you have to...

    hurst shifter (pooie)

I have a 2004 LS1 with the 6-spd and I put in a 2007 (C6) stock Z06 shifter this summer, after much shopping and investigating. It's a shorter throw, drops right in and works flawlessly. Got the idea from "Rain" on this forum. I also put synthetic ATF (Amsoil) in the tranny which really makes...

    C6/Z06 Shifter goes in Saturday

I have purchased the C6 Z06 shifter from Fred Bean and the custom shift boot from Auger. Do I need anything else to do the install other than tools and patience? Is there a good set of pictorally illustrated instructions on the net somewhere to help me with the install? I want to do it right...

    C6/Z06 Shifter goes in Saturday

Did you end up installing a stock C6 shifter boot? If so, did you get it from Fred Beans, too? What is the part number for that? My interior is black. Are you happy with the performance of the shifter at this point? I have an 04 I'd like to do this to. I bought my car new and have been...

    Home-made lift?

If you have a C5 you have to get the car up three feet to get the mufflers off unless you cut them up. I have the Kwik Lift and still had to go up at least a foot higher to change my mufflers. The wood system reminds me of the old movie "Bridge Over the River Kwai." Looks great.

    Front Plate used?

Here in Wisconsin I got stopped by the State Patrol for not displayng the front plate on my C5 (apparently the trooper was bored). Front plate was on, but had my Speed Lingerie on with no license plate window. For safety reasons, the trooper didn't want me to leave the car to prove the plate...

Shortening the C5 6-speed shift lever

I've heard that by shortening the stock C5 6-speed shift lever by 1" it improves shifting performance, without adding the harshness that the aftermarket shifters seem to have. I've driven a couple C5's with the aftermarket shifters and I don't really care for the feel of them. Has anyone out...
