Question: Noob having problems with 84 Vette.

:werd:The Factory Service Manual (FSM) is worth its weight in gold. It'll pay for itself in no time. Bargains on Ebay can be found, too. I was able to buy the complete, two-volume set for my '92 in very gently used condition for under $50 (plus shipping).

    What is your favorite oil?

Has anyone used Castrol EDGE 5W-30 Synthetic? It supposedly outperformed Mobil 1 5W-30 in recent tests. http://www.castroledgeusa.com/#/why-upgrade/results

    Question: Service engine soon light

It's an emissions item and it is not terribly expensive. Runs about $60 bucks for your car at most auto parts stores, obviously higher at dealerships. It's not hard to replace, (at least not on an LT1). Fix it yourself and save the labor cost. They typically fail due to the diaphragm on the...

The infamous power antenna not working

Remember, those instructions are for removing the entire motor assembly prior to installing the new mast. A lot of people make the mistake of trying to install the new mast before removing the broken bits of old ribbon jammed inside the motor assembly. The result is a new mast that won't...

    Help! 1992 C4... No Start!

Have you pulled the ECM codes? Could be a bad Optispark Module but more likely a loose or bad connection from the coil to the Opti.

Couple questions on bringing a 94 Coupe back to life

I am wondering if the A/C system was low on R134 refrigerant? The shaft (and other seals along the lines) can harden with age and lack of use, resulting in the loss of gas.

    Help! Belt tensioner wrench

Not sure about the L-98 engine, but on an LT1, take care not to break off the water temp sender located on the pump housing. If you're not careful, it's easy to shear if off with your breaker bar should it slip while your applying pressure to the belt tensioner.

The infamous power antenna not working

How to replace a C4 Corvette antenna mast by Julian Shipp Here are the instructions for removing the power antenna motor for service BEFORE installing a new antenna mast on 1992-1996 Corvettes. The power antenna motor is visible from underneath the vehicle if you lay on your back and look...

Trip resets when key goes off...

Check ebay often for used Factory Service Manuals. I ordered the complete, two-volume set for my '92 in very gently used condition recently and paid less than $50.00 (shipping included). As C4 prices continue to drop, so do prices on many periperhal and support items. Good news for us...

battery went dead now lights wont pop up

There's a headlight control module (located on the front fender wheel). I'd check the fuses and relays, first, though.

Couple questions on bringing a 94 Coupe back to life

Be prepared for weatherstrip problems, too. Although, they might not be too severe given the car was garage kept for what? 12 years or so? Stop by your local hardware or plumbing supply store and buy a tube of Leslie's Pool & Spa Lube. Runs about $5. Apply it with your fingers to your...

    Question: Weatherstripping

It's too late for aged weatherstripping, but if you want to keep it moist and supple for years, stop by your local hardware or plumbing supply shop and buy a tube of Leslie's Pool & Spa Lube. Apply with your fingers. It'll keep your weatherstrip in good condition for years.
