I bought a stock air cleaner lid and cut out about a 8"x12" opening. Then I installed a K&N filter. How does this compare to a Haltech or other type of performance induction system??? I don't know, BUT, I saved a load of cash (new lid, K&N filter & cleaner kit =~$120). Admittedly there was no...
Does anyone know if a C6 parking brake lever assembly will fit a C5? Specifically, I am wondering if it is simple swap or are mounting holes different or do they use different cable ends or cable lengths?
Thanks!

I replaced the GY's with Kuhmo Ecsta run flats. I absolutly love them. They grip well and are SOOO much more quiet than the Gy's. Have only about 2K miles on them so I can't tell yet how they wear.
Welcome to the C5 experience!! I hope it's as good and fun for you as it's been for me!!

My '01 MN6 has 27K miles on it. I'd like to change out the transmission fluid (still original). 1st to 2nd is a little notchy. Will new fluid help??
Any suggestions? What is your experience??
Thanks,

You're splitting hairs.
The difference between the two sizes results in 3.03 more revolutions in one mile using the smaller tire. The difference in circumference between the two tires is .31". That means that for every mile you drive on the larger tire, you lose .939 Inches traveled on the...
With all the news and speculation about a pending GM restucture or bankruptcy, there has been a lot of talk about which brands GM may or may not hold on to. What I haven't heard is: What product lines within the brands that GM keeps, will kept? My obvious interest is even if GM keeps Chevy, will...
I am about to flush the brake system of the black gunk in the master cylinder.
Is Valvoline synthetic DOT 3 & 4 OK to use? I don't think it's silicone based, is it?
What is the brake system capacity. The valvoline brake fluid comes in 12 & 32 oz. cans hiw much should I buy?
Are there any...
The automatic climate control system will use the A/C to get moisture out of the air to reduce windsheild fogging under certain conditions. I think there is a more complete explanation in the owners manual.
Good Luck!!

Hi!
My '01 coupes brake fluid is getting quite black. I want to change out the fluid, but at the same time do the following:
1) instal new SS braided hoses
2) upgrade to a better fluid that does not absorb as much moisture.
My questions are:
1) Recommendations for better fluid?
2) Are there...

Mind doses the same thing, usualy when the engine is cold (more so in the colder weather) and between 1900-2100 rpms.
Mine, like yours also runs great!

Thanks!! I called Gary Encks and made an appointment. Actually, I'm looking forward to the drive...any excuse will do!
Thanks again for the recommendation.

I live in upstate New York in the Amsterdam/Saratoga area. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Dealership in my area where I can trust them with my '01 coupe? Or, does anyone know of a website where I can get this kind of recommendation??
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you!
Dave
Try BG 44K
I've had the same gauge issue in my '01. I now use BG 44K fuel additive once a year and have never had the problem again. It's a bit expensive($12/can) but IMHO it's the best you can buy. You can buy it online (as do I) or check some of your local car dealers. I've also heard the...
Just do it for the sound!!
When I bought my aftermarket exhaust, I just did it for the sound. I love it so much, I havn't listened to a cd or the radio in three years.

I don't think there will be a problem at the top of the tire, because there is plenty of room for wheel travel. When turning the wheel however, you should measure the clearance from the edges of the tire to the inside of the wheel well.

Hello Doc,
No problems at all. I actually used a 3/4" hole saw (the type used for plumbing w/ a drill). I determined the patern I wanted to use and layed it out on the template that I mentioned. I used a poster board-like material so it was rather stiff. I layed out the center...
